Black pour with a small brown head. Smells of dark chocolate malts, roasted oats and a hint of coffee. Strong chocolate flavor with bitter coffee, a hint of brown sugar and toasted malts lingering for quite a while on the palate. Medium-full oily body.

12oz bottle, courtesy of artusory. Thanks, Ryan! Pours a dark black center with very thin brown edges; medium tan head with fine bubbled lacing. Plenty of charred and roasted malt in the aroma; smoke and bitter coffee. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: good density, viscous and chewy; loads of chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee; hints of smoke and marshmallow; lightly oily palate as well, very warming. Long, bitter chocolate and roasted malt finish. Very tasty, drinkable stout.

Thanks to Silphium for the bottle. Pours black with very little head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and coffee. Taste adds a lot of bitterness. Full body. Silky texture. Finishes clean.

Nothin’ I haven’t had before; interchangeable with many a sweet stout or porter out there -- which means "better than average," at least. Movin’ onto the next beer . . .

Dark reddish brown body - very nice roasted vanilla and chocolately malts in the aroma that is also slightly alcoholic. The flavor is pretty good too. the roastiness really comes through - bitter coffee, and yes, even some oatmeal.. Not very sweet, which is good for me. The finish is pleasantly clean and bitter. An interesting and different take on the sweet stout, which is usually much lower in alcohol.

Bottle from Ughsmash (thanks!) - oily, black bodied pour, with a short-lived brown head - moderately sweet aroma, with notes of cream/milk, espresso, loads of grain - very grainy throughout the flavor - creamy sweetness tempered by a heavy roasted malt presence, complimented by bitterness coming late - medium-bodied and quite well-balanced - the alcohol is hidden well, but starts to become apparent in the finish - the mouthfeel isn’t as creamy as I would like, but this is rather enjoyable.

Inky black pour with a substantial light brown head. Sweetish cream aroma with some roasty in the background. Oh wow! Rich and creamy, silky with lots of velvet - they have not skimped on the oats here. Nice amount of roasted flavor, not too sweet, with a fine bitterness intact. This is a great stout! Thanks Brad.

Bottled, most recent batch. Poured deep brown with a short beige head that fizzled down quickly. The aroma picked up heavy roasted oatmeal with milk chocolate... very enticing and proved an excellent choice for dessert.
The flavor found about the same elements, with well-roasted milk chocolate, a hint of espresso, and a bunch of oats... fairly grainy throughout on the palate, where I expected it to be smoother... did a ridiculously good job of hiding its alcohol... enjoyed the dry roasted chocolate that carried through the finish. Very good brew.
