Flavor is exactly the same as the aroma with the chocolate providing a deep resonance. A hop based zing lights up the mouth is assisted by alcohol. A nice and flavorful beer.. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Aroma like caramel coffee. Nice pronounced coffee flavor does not dominate the sweet maltiness. Unique, well executed combo, but I am not totally wowed by it’s complexity. Cavie (1447), Fort Worth, Texas, USA

Cloudy brown colored with little head and lots of sediment apparent. Large coffee scent with some bitterness as well. Flavor is straight from the coffee pot. Tastes bitter but has nice flavorings. Very tasty. holdenn (1443), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 30, 2007 On tap at the Great Lakes Brew Fest. And what a fine label that is. Cheers to frankenkitty. Pours brown with a small beige head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, and roasted malts. Coffee brown sugar burnt malts, alcohol, and a little cough syrupy from that fruity alcohol. Ok, but the label is better than the beer. adrian910ss (1432), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2007 Coffee didn’t come blowing through in the aroma, more of a slight roast malt, and right at the end a touch of coffee bean, taste was that a mildy sweetened coffee that had a very satisfying non bitter finish, taste and felt more like an ale then a bock, smooth palate enjoyable jaymobrown (1360), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Wow, lots of jalapeno and bitterness. Sour and sharp. Not really reminds me off coffee. Cold and dead on the tongue. Other oat and feedbag malts. Some hops rounding the end. Pretty good, but I’m not sure I would actually get this again. The initial taste was really off putting. Once that first sip is done, it does get better. I’d suggest letting this warm up.
