Aug 12, 2008 Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy and garthicus, via trade with Boutip. Deep mahogany pour, hazy, smallish frothy off-white head. Dry roast nutty malt aroma, acidic and herbal - the taste introduces hazelnut coffee notes with some tart fruit and cream - really simple and appealing. Somewhat light bodied, solidly acidic, a nice long bitter/roasty finish. Very, very drinkable.

Sep 20, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a very hazy dark brown colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was malty coffee and funky. The semi-thick mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of hops roasted malt dark malt and coffee. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

May 14, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with dark tan head. Aroma is caramel, coffee, and brown sugar. Flavor is light coffee and the sweet sugar comes through with little hop character or etoh noticed. creamy and drinkable.

Jan 9, 2008 Poured a clear caramel color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, caramel malts, some smoke, and light cocoa. Taste was sweeter caramel, roasted malts, vanilla, and molasses. A bit sweet, but a nice try...

Jan 30, 2009 Dark brown color with a medium head. Aroma of freshly ground coffee. A little bitter upfront, more from coffee than hops. Plenty of coffee in this one. The sweet malt blends pretty well with it.

Jan 23, 2009 Pours a deep clear dark amber, almost mahogany with a thin lasting creamy off white head. Aroma is upfront with lots of coffee, at first it seems nice and fresh and a surprise to find in a doppelbock but after a while the aroma goes to a bit ashy and turnns almost to old coffee grains left out in the filter- some caramel and toasted lager malts coming through. Flavor is not quite so dominated by the coffee and it seems a bit more well integrated and not as harsh or old tasting- more munich and toasty vienna malts come trhough the moderately fresh coffee flavor. Pretty smooth finish though and easy to drink.

Aug 11, 2008 Bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a very deep ruby with an average size diminishing off-white head. Aroma’s malty, a bit nutty along with some toffee and light herbal hops. Flavour’s malty with coffee, a touch of smoke, toffee and light bitter finish. Average bodied. Pretty good.

Jan 31, 2008 Updated: Mar 24, 2008Not much head and a nice day espresso aroma. Although it’s pretty transparent, the flavor is pretty spot on. Roasty without being too malty or sweet. The coffee is the star of the show here. Nice stuff but lacing any real head (arent we all)?
