Apr 17, 2008 On tap at the brewery, 2007. Like great coffee with extra sugar in it. Malty, sweety, a great mouthfeel. After taste is a solid coffee flavor. A great, great blend.

Jun 9, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Plucier: Poured a deep copper color bock with a small foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of medium coffee notes with a lightly sweet caramel malt base. Taste is also a mix between a lightly sweet caramel malt base with some nice medium notes of dry coffee. Average body with some OK carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not extremely complex but well done and interesting take on the doppelbock style.

Nov 30, 2009 On draft at Capones. Pours a dark maple brown with a small off white head. Aroma of coffee beans, expresso and cream. Taste of freshly ground coffee beans, expresso and cream. Nice stuff.

Aroma: Big coffee aroma with dark roasted malt lingering through.
Appearance: Dark brown in color, Clear with a thin head.
Flavor: Big coffee flavor this also still had the malt and light spices for added flavors.
Palate: Dry Coffee Finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: This was a very impressive brew. Loved the flavor and it was not too over the top with flavor. The actual malt was still getting through.

Oct 12, 2008 Draft at Radio Maria in Champaign, IL. Pours a deep black with a wisp of a head. Aroma of wet coffee grounds. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Flavor is very strong in dry, roasty coffee, with accents of nuts, peat, and chocolate. Moderate amount of residual sweetness, which works well to bring out the nuances. Very nice beer. Has a homebrew like quality to it.

May 14, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with dark tan head. Aroma is caramel, coffee, and brown sugar. Flavor is light coffee and the sweet sugar comes through with little hop character or etoh noticed. creamy and drinkable.

Jun 21, 2009 Pours dark maroon with a large medium sized beige head. Smell is of sweet maltiness and nice strong coffee. Taste is about what I’d expect from the name. Rich and malty as expected from a dopplebock with a nice coffee flavor as well. Finishes more malty with little coffee flavor at the end. Pretty nice and drinkable. Medium to slightly rich body with good carbonation. Fairly noticeable tartness in the finish that detracted somewhat.

May 13, 2009 12 oz bottle. pours a deep red wtih a fluffy lasting beige head that leaves some lace on the glass. Aroma is of caramel, COFFee, alcohol, caramel, Coffee, alcohol, and brown sugar. Finish is coffee and alcohol. Smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel. Tasty!
