Commercial Description:
It's big and full bodied with lots of roasted malts and balanced with heavy hops to put this imperial in a league of its own.
Previously known as Dark Horse Imperial Stout.

2 year old, snifter from bottle. Pours a deep, intimidating black. With a black cherry head, resilient and oily. Smokey, mesquite aroma, with burnt dark chocolate. Smokey dark chocolate on the tongue, definite beef jerky flavor. Some bitter hoppy finish. Well rounded beer, decently enjoyable.

Bottle at Tronraner’s Xmas Eve^3 tasting. Very dark brown pour with no real head at all. Nice roasty nose is slightly hampered by the fusuel alcohol notes. Bitter chocolate and coffee flavors. Pretty decent job, just nothing overly special about this.

Decent RIS. Pours black with no head. Flavor is definitely roasted malt and a hint of bitter chocolate. Mouthfeel is fairly thin for the style. OK.

12 ounce bottle. Just like the other stouts by Dark Horse, this one pours a motor oil black with a one finger width tan head. Also like the other Dark Horse stouts this brew had absolutely no carbonation. The aroma was a bit strange when it was cold consisting of smoke and metal. As the beer warmed it smelled a lot better with bitter chocolate, coffee, dried fruits, and roasted malts. The taste was chocolaty with a lot of roasted malts and some coffee. It had a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Finished a bit bitter but was overall a very good stout.

Bottle thanks to yem25. Pours with a very small, very dark brown head that fades over the pitch black body. Aroma of coffee, cocoa, light smoke, cookie, vanilla and light teriyaki. Taste is chocolaty, but ends very smoky and woody with sweet biscuits and caramel notes in between. Also some coffee grounds. Creamy with light bubbles.

Pours like motor oil, with a black hue with no head whatsoever. Aroma is very smoky, with hints of chocolate, coffee. There are some aromas of dark fruits, specifically prunes and dates. Flavor has a sweet beginning complemented well by the bitter ending. The ending is a little too musky/smoky for my liking though. All in all this bear has a very strange flavor - not really a huge fan of the taste. Syrupy texture with light carbonation.

Bottle shared by Eric, thanks man. Pours out a pure black with a thick brown head. A very powerful aroma; tons of burnt brown sugar, smoke, and a heavy dose of roasted malts. Some coffee also. The flavor is similar; tons of roasted malts, rich coffee, smoke, and just loads of roasted flavors in here. Very drinkable and a nice mouthfeel, creamy and full. Very nice.

12 oz. bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is huge roasted and caramelized malts, licorice, dark chocolate, mocha, and even a weak dark fruit. The flavor follows suit with how big everything is. Big roasted malts, chocolate, espresso, caramel, dark fruits, and licorice. This is a full bodied brew that is insanely drinkable for something 12%. I enjoyed this one more than expected.
