| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 24, 2008 Grain chocolate aroma, some roastedness, very inticing ,tastey chocolate flavor, reminded me of Bosco, more chocolate evident then in many Chocolate Stouts, little hints of hops, roasted malt, hard to believe this is 12%,didn’t pick up all the hops others were getting, seemed to thin out a little bit in the last half of bottle. Excellent brew, thanks Kingpin miketd (685), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

Pour is pitch black with a decent brown head. Quite a bit of chocolate in the aroma along with roasted malts. Flavor is silky smooth and roasty. Not a hint of the ABV. Great body and texture. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2008 12oz bottle, courtesy of StFun. Thanks, Joshua! Pours an oily, dark-brown color; medium brown head with patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Oily nuttiness, roasted malts, milk and dark chocolate, and sweet maltiness in the aroma; quite nice. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: loads of oily roasted malts, dark chocolate, peanuts and roasted nuts; excellent oiliness and viscosity; relaxed carbonation; very solid, tasty imperial stout. Surprisingly drinkable, with a touch of green coffee and dark chocolate. Lengthy finish, showing dark chocolate, oily nuttiness, and roasted malts. CP (124), USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | May 11, 2008 At 10.6% this is so drinkable it is scary. No alcohol taste but warms on the way down. As with most dark horse beers it is very smooth. I think this one might be the smoothest of them all. As the consistency of Bells Expedition but has a much better flavor. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, honey, buttersotch and a almost peppermint after taste. This is a very good beer and one of my favorite imperial stouts. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 10, 2008 Bottles from Hoppymeal and Footbalm, thanks! Pours Black with no head. Light coffee and dark chocolate aroma. 1st thing that stands out about this beers is that it is very creamy with the mentioned coffee and semi chocolate flavors. Nice roasted character with bright hoppy notes. Smooth and easy to drink. Impressive and different then all the other imperial stouts out there.
