Commercial Description:
It's big and full bodied with lots of roasted malts and balanced with heavy hops to put this imperial in a league of its own.
Previously known as Dark Horse Imperial Stout.

Grain chocolate aroma, some roastedness, very inticing ,tastey chocolate flavor, reminded me of Bosco, more chocolate evident then in many Chocolate Stouts, little hints of hops, roasted malt, hard to believe this is 12%,didn’t pick up all the hops others were getting, seemed to thin out a little bit in the last half of bottle. Excellent brew, thanks Kingpin

Another great 12 oz. from Acknud...thanks Bill!!! Pour is pitch black with a decent brown head. Quite a bit of chocolate in the aroma along with roasted malts. Flavor is silky smooth and roasty. Not a hint of the ABV. Great body and texture.

Bottle. Pours brown with amber hues. Flavor is strongly malted with a nice roastiness to the body. A good amount of hops here too.

12oz - Aroma is roasted dark malts, vanilla, chocolate, hops, coffee and cream. Pours black with a small brown head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma with a big hoppy vanilla aftertaste. Lots of roasted dark malts. Not overpowering. Alcohol well hidden. Palate is creamy. An easy drinking flavorful stout.

Bottle. Pours black, with a brown colored head. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, cramel. Flavor is dark chocolate, burnt malts, coffee, nuts. Palate is full bodied, mild carbonation, finished bitter. This is one fantastic IS, not as good as Founders but in the ballpark for sure!!!

12oz bottle, courtesy of StFun. Thanks, Joshua! Pours an oily, dark-brown color; medium brown head with patchy, fine-bubbled lacing. Oily nuttiness, roasted malts, milk and dark chocolate, and sweet maltiness in the aroma; quite nice. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: loads of oily roasted malts, dark chocolate, peanuts and roasted nuts; excellent oiliness and viscosity; relaxed carbonation; very solid, tasty imperial stout. Surprisingly drinkable, with a touch of green coffee and dark chocolate. Lengthy finish, showing dark chocolate, oily nuttiness, and roasted malts.

At 10.6% this is so drinkable it is scary. No alcohol taste but warms on the way down. As with most dark horse beers it is very smooth. I think this one might be the smoothest of them all. As the consistency of Bells Expedition but has a much better flavor. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, honey, buttersotch and a almost peppermint after taste. This is a very good beer and one of my favorite imperial stouts.

Bottles from Hoppymeal and Footbalm, thanks! Pours Black with no head. Light coffee and dark chocolate aroma. 1st thing that stands out about this beers is that it is very creamy with the mentioned coffee and semi chocolate flavors. Nice roasted character with bright hoppy notes. Smooth and easy to drink. Impressive and different then all the other imperial stouts out there.
