Pours black as an evil heart...and floats a dark robust head. Nose is a great roasty mess of chocolate, espresso, burnt grains, smoke. Flavors are likewise intensely roasted...chocolate, espresso, smoke, molasses, burnt grain, and sweet caramel. Pretty potent alcohol most noticable in the dry boozy finish. Wow, this is good!

BPW #85 12 oz bottle shared by Andy, thanks bud! Appearance is a syrupy velvety dark chocolate with a micro rich brown head. Nose is snicker-doodle cookies, roasted and smoked barley. The flavors are dark chocolate, roasted barley, some smoked sausage. Mouth is a little under carbonated. Medium to full bodied.

Thick black pour with a brown mocha head. Roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa. The taste is wow- roasted malt, especially in the finish, chocolate, cocoa, nice creamy combination. It coats the mouth. It has a little sweetness to it. Some lacing on the glass. There was a little alcohol in the nose, and as it warms, it becomes more apparent in the flavor.

Dan’s Bachelor Party Extended Weekend Rating #81 of 90. Thanks for the hookup Sprinkle. Bottle. Pours pitch black with dark tan head. Nose is molasses, oatmeal, snickerdoodle cookies and faint dark fruits with some brown sugar hints. Starts pretty bitter chocolate with black coffee, sweet/dark malts, slgithly syrupy and hidden ABV. Really great flavor and great to savor.

12 oz bottle courtesy of the Binnys Singles Rack (Orland Park, IL). It will take a champ to follow up my first brew of the night.. so I chose no slouch. Pours a thick oily black, opaque in the glass with small dark brown head that laces a bit, stays at that level. Aromas are heavy malts, pushing heavy caramel and toffee, chocolate, and roasted malts, thick with a largely sweeter feel, lacking hops. Initial is thick and chevy bodied, a heavy dark fruit and caramel sweetness followed by some sweeter chocolate and brown sugar, a touch of bitter chocolate and roasted feeling. This is a sweetness forward brew, preaching dark fruits, syrup, caramel, and some sweeter chocolate about all else. Further in, cookies and black olives work their way into the equation, which the latter ends up a bit distracting. Finish is lightly bitter with a coating body and more potent sweetness and warming alcohol feeling. The hops come in a bit heavier further into the brew, which vindicates it somewhat. Ok Imperial Stout.. not something I’d likely revisit with all the other better options available.

( 12oz bottle) Pours black with no head but coats the glass well and good lacing. Nose of sweet chocolate, coffee and smoky malts. Taste is sweet chocolate cake, syrupy and delicious.
