Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Light brown head. Roast, sweetness, chocolate and alcohol in the nose. Flavour has coffee, roast, alcohol and loads of chocolate. Is light herbal. Full bodied. Roasty and herbal bitter end. Is quite flat, but still a higly drinkable beer. A million thanks to BBB6 for this mighty brew.

Pours pitch black and a thin brown head. Roasted aroma with a warming alcohol tone. Milk chocolate and coffee in there as well. Flavor is dark roasted with a nice hoppyness and plenty of bitter coffee bean. Sharp and biding on the tongue yet complex. A really nice stout, could use a slight more carbonation though. Thanks a lot Mads for this treat!

12oz bottle via trade with Duane! - Thanks! - Pours black like motor oil with very little tan head that fades quickly. Aromas of chocolate, light coffee, dark fruits, big roasted malts, and a touch of tobacco. Flavor is chocolate, roasted malts, tobacco, molasses, raisin, a touch of liccorice, and just a touch of the alcohol on the back of each sip. Palate is heavy, thick and almost chalk-like. Quite chewy at first but slick on the finish with a dry alchoholic finish. Complex and unique. Rerate at C-bus 8 - Wow this is better than I gave it credit for last time... Really good stuff... 8-4-8-5-17

04.28.06 12oz bottle sampled at Paul’s Pre-TAPNY. I almost didn’t even try this beer because I didn’t recognize the label as being different from the Fore (which I’ve had enough to let others get a chance at a tasting). Well, thanks to some persistent urging by the good crew at Paul’s, I was convinced that this was indeed a new beer to me -- and what a beer it was! Appropriately black pour with thin and fading brown head. Massive aromas are unpretentious with simple toasty oats, burned bread, and dark molasses. Awesomely simple without excessive fruitiness, sweetness, or other nonsense. Hints of anise, tobacco, and mineral soil linger but never take the fore. Basically, it’s one of the driest impy stouts I’ve tried, and it’s still pretty hot so, in my opinion, might get even more dry. Nice stuff. These guys brew good beer.

Bottled thanks to Mr. Styles! One of those nights when you really just need a big beer. Poured an exceptionally thick black with not a whole lot going on head-wise. Nose was of heavily-roasted dark malts and some alcohol... soy and licorice provided the first impressions, followed by dry, dark chocolate, vinous notes, and raisins. The alcohol was complementary. Flavor was full and complex... sporting rich, slightly-scorched dark malts (basically the same composition as in the aroma)... picked up some coffee flavor and bitterness around the edges. Alcohol was strong and certainly present, but it never got in the way. Slightly grainy and medium-full bodied on the palate.. just a tad slick from the booze. Very good brew.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Completely opaque black with a light brown head. Malty, sweetish nose. Very full-bodied with plenty of hard roasted malt without being really burned. Vinous and alcoholic. Extremely delicate. 300406

Pours oily and black, with very little head. Persistent aroma, liquorice with some phenols. Oily mouthfeel, thick, sweet, with a good combination of malt, liquorice, roasted malts, nuts; more sweet than roasted. Excellent.
