(Bottle 35,5 cl) Completely opaque black with a light brown head. Malty, sweetish nose. Very full-bodied with plenty of hard roasted malt without being really burned. Vinous and alcoholic. Extremely delicate. 300406

Pours oily and black, with very little head. Persistent aroma, liquorice with some phenols. Oily mouthfeel, thick, sweet, with a good combination of malt, liquorice, roasted malts, nuts; more sweet than roasted. Excellent.

Bottle. Pitch black colour with a weak head. Very nice smooth aroma of rasins, roastedness and chocolate. Wonderful smooth flavour of roastedness, coffee, dried fruit and ends sweet with a warm feeling from the alcohol.

I love this beer! Seems like it should pour slower, as thick as it looks. A truly enjoyable drinking experience by Darkhorse.

A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is fantastic with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, and hops, in a very fine mixture. The flavor is very roasted, which gives it a dryness, but also rather sweet, leading to a good bitter end. Nice.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry courtesy of Silphium. Seventh and last beer of our Dark Horse Brewing tasting. I’m sad that this is the last one, they’ve all been great so far -- I am definitely a new convert to this fine brewery. Pours black, like oil, with a spare light-brown head. Outstanding aroma of chocolate, nuts, roasted malt, dark fruit, alcohol and so much more -- wow! The flavour’s pretty damn tasty too: big body of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, fruit and a nice hoppy finish. Hard to believe this is 10.6%! Full bodied. I love this Stout, in fact I love this Brewery -- 7 beers in a row and they’ve all been great -- Dark Horse are a new favourite.
