| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 3, 2006 A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is fantastic with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, and hops, in a very fine mixture. The flavor is very roasted, which gives it a dryness, but also rather sweet, leading to a good bitter end. Nice. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

Seventh and last beer of our Dark Horse Brewing tasting. I’m sad that this is the last one, they’ve all been great so far -- I am definitely a new convert to this fine brewery. Pours black, like oil, with a spare light-brown head. Outstanding aroma of chocolate, nuts, roasted malt, dark fruit, alcohol and so much more -- wow! The flavour’s pretty damn tasty too: big body of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, fruit and a nice hoppy finish. Hard to believe this is 10.6%! Full bodied. I love this Stout, in fact I love this Brewery -- 7 beers in a row and they’ve all been great -- Dark Horse are a new favourite.
