patrick767 (2016), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Dec 21, 2008 tap at Dark Horse 4 Elf Party - I am told this was made from a second running after the barley wine. It pours orange-brown with a thin white head. There is a mild malty aroma. The flavor is sweet and a little grainy, but as Silphium says it avoids the corn overload of many malt liquors. It is light bodied and a bit watery. Not too bad, really. But it is still a malt liquor. Silphium (2114), Haslett, Michigan, USA Dec 15, 2008 On tap at Dark Horse 4 Elf Party. Medium orange body, medium off-white head. Tangy, sugary body with apple and even a hint of pineapple, somewhat vegetal but lacks the foul corn stew characteristics I expected. Bready. Interesting malt liquor, and surprisingly drinkable. After a 4 Elf and Blueberry Stout, perhaps that was to be expected...
