Commercial Description:
A light ale made with 100% real raspberries in every batch. The rasberries give this beer a fruity aroma while keeping the beer balanced in taste. The raspberry flavor is not "oversweet" or "overpowering". We believe our beers should be "beer 1st,fruit 2nd".

Bottle from trade with dra19. Pours a murky uneventful drab oragne color with very little white head. Light raspberry notes in the aroma, a general earthy malt aroma. Decent palate, kinda thick, well-carbonated. Taste offers a hint of sweet raspberry flavor to start and that basically the beginning and end of it. The finish has some suggestion of tartness, but not much. Not much to look at and overall seems to lack focus.

Dark Horse Raspberry Ale 12 oz bottle Moderate pour in a goblet. Unknown brewing, picked 07/07 Poured a golden orange with a medium frothy somewhat diminishing white head. Smelt of raspberries, bread, grassy hops. Taste was upfront moderate bitter raspberries and its leaves with light sweet bread followed by a moderate to strong bitter spoiled fruit and dried leaves with more light sweetness. Palate was light bodied, watery, fizzy and lightly astringent. Overall, this is the most awkward tasting raspberry beer I’ve ever had. The finish is striking and unpleasant. The tart raspberry taste is nice, but very subdued. It’s like a light pale ale with raspberries. Interesting, intriguing, and innovative, but not inspiring.

Very pale, yellow/orange color. Quite bland overall, although not unenjoyable. Has a strong raspberry aroma and taste that dominates above and beyond. Just okay.

Aquired in a trade with Shigadeyo. Pours a hazy medium golden with a small but lasting head. Pretty big carbonation also. I didn’t find the aroma to be dominated by the raspberry. It was pretty mild actually. Mild malts, berries and wheats. Flavor was slightly tart berries, hops and malts. Pretty refreshing on a hot day. Thanks Craig.

This pours a hazey off-orange body with a thick creamy head. The aroma is all raspberry, sweet, yet not too candy-like. The malt is taste-able, but the raspberries pretty much take over. I’d like it if they were a bit more tart. Okay enough for the Summer.

Poured a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma was of raspberry, but a little off as well. Kind of astringent. The flavor was OK, but not much raspberry there. This wasn’t anything to write home about.

12oz bottle- A hazy orange body with a small ring for a head and an aroma of raspberry and yeast. Taste of raspberry followed by by a little malt. Not bad but wish a little more raspberry. It fits their description.

12 oz bottle. Poured a hazy orange color. Head was white and left a bit of lace behind. Yeasty, grainy aroma and flavor accented by distinct raspberry. The fruit isn’t cloying, but overall the beer is pretty one dimensional.
