Commercial Description:
A light ale made with 100% real raspberries in every batch. The rasberries give this beer a fruity aroma while keeping the beer balanced in taste. The raspberry flavor is not "oversweet" or "overpowering". We believe our beers should be "beer 1st,fruit 2nd".

I like Dark Horse. This is a fun, refreshing beer that would be great for relaxing with on a warm summer evening. However, I’m not at home where it’s 90 outside at 7:30 p.m., I’m in Cleveland where it is only 60. Cloudy amber with a good head. Good fruit aroma. Slight tartness gives the impression of drinking a carbonated juice drink. It’s tasty. It’s not mind blowing or innovative, but it’s not meant to be. Solid.

12 oz bottle thanks to Zinnamon. Poured a slightly hazy straw/honey color with a rather small bubbly white head. Aroma was of frozen raspberries in a sugary syrup with a slight bit of malt in the background. The sweetness from the aroma didn’t carry over that much into the flavor which had a tart crispness to it. The flavor however lingered in my mouth which then produced some sweetness again which was a pleasant suprise. Pretty good fruit beer.

The commercial description is right on. Less like fruit pop, more like light wheat beer with SOME natural rasberry. Looked good though. I also smelt apples on this one. Kind of an interesting brew.

This smelled like roses more than raspberries, and tasted like what I think roses would taste like. Not necessarily a bad thing, but, not what they’re going for, I presume. I definitely tasted fruit here, but, raspberry wasn’t it. However, I’m not sure what it was. It was pretty in the glass, though, and it went down smoothly. It did have that aftertaste of beer, unlike something like Belgian Red, which tastes nothing like beer to me.

Nice aroma, but the flavor doesn’t live up to it. Flavor is lightly raspberry, which is nice, but completely flat otherwise. Sort of a dry wheat flavor to it, very watery, not full bodied at all; unbalanced. Nice once, not again.

12 oz bottle thanks to xnoxhatex for sharing. Pours a clear copper color with no head. Nose of raspberry and what is that, its takin me a while to place that dirty soapy ... urinal cake! yep urinal cake. (though some fascists don’t like differing opinions) Light flavors fruit watery, not good.

sample from a 12oz bottle. pours clear straw color with no head. nose has nice fresh raspberries right from the vines. reminded me of the raspberry bush my neighbor had that i used to pick while i mowed their lawn. the smell was faint with some earthy sorta grassy hay notes that made me think of the bush. anyways, it’s a nice raspberry smell. i’ll admit there may be some faint soap smell and i can see where some idiot might think urinal cake but i don’t think that’s it. flavor was crisp, refreshing light raspberries. not much else. an easy to drink fruit beer without getting to fruity. i actually enjoyed this.

Thank you moejuck for this beer. A very interesting but underwhelming beer. Very rasberry aroma at first that faded to this weird soapy smell that was confirmed as "urinal cake" by holdenn in his glass. Their wasn’t too much malt to the beer to speak of which I would have preffered but still a nice flavor of raspberries to go along with it. Thin body and if it weren’t for the raspberries I don’t think I would have enjoyed this beer too much.
