Commercial Description:
A light ale made with 100% real raspberries in every batch. The rasberries give this beer a fruity aroma while keeping the beer balanced in taste. The raspberry flavor is not "oversweet" or "overpowering". We believe our beers should be "beer 1st,fruit 2nd".

Bottle from Bello Vino in Ann Arbor. Hazy iced tea appearance. Faint malt and fainter raspberry in the aroma. Watery mouthfeel. Flavour of bland, sweet malt with a hint of raspberry in the finish. I’ve liked other Dark Horse beers I’ve tried, so I had high hopes for this one, but I ended up very disappointed.

tap at brewpub- cloudy orange with not much head to speak of. light residual raspberry nose that smells medicinal and artificial. flavors of plastic and artificial berry flavor akin to kool-aid. light palate and just overall boring. probably the worst beer from this brewery.

Smelt this beer at several paces. Fruity musty aroma. Foggy brown orange appearance, but not too much of a head here. Flavor hits the upper palate immediately, then disappears with out after taste. This beer doesn’t just get swallowed, it vanishes in the back of your mouth. Not too fruity like Founders RUBUS raspberry beer. Hey, this is a man’s raspberry beer. Oops, I just realized how stupid that sounds. Flavor sticks with you to the last drop.

From 12oz Bottle. Pours a deep cinnimonny tan color with a thin layer of even beige head. The aroma is dominated by raspberries, but is toned down by a wheaty under layer. The flavor brings out a lot more of the wheaty character and less of the raspberries that completely dominate the aroma. The wheaty flavors are not exceptionally pleasing to my palate however, and come across as being a bit thin and grainy. Oh well, it still smells quite good.

This was quite awful. Color was a hazy bronze with a white head. Aroma was of chemical sweetener. Flavor was the same...chemical and shitty. Mouthfeel was surprisingly starchy.

This tastes like one of those crappy fruit wheat beers we had at Flossmoor station. Aroma is so artificially bad raspberry. Luckily the flavor isn’t as bad but it was still artificial. I think i made a good point that it may not taste like the worst fruit beer but at least their colors made it appear as though the actual fruit was in there. this shit thing is gold in color.

smells like fake raspberries with a couple hints of ass. looks nice enough. i have to throw in that it’s got a really strong aroma too. it’s got more beer flavor than rubaeus by founders, but there’s nothing very good here. kinda a lousy bitterness.

Pours a transparent copper orange with an airy off-white head. Has a nice, fresh red raspberry aroma with some mild pale malty sweetness. Body starts with some light malty sweetness balanced with some drier earthy, fruity raspberries and some tartness. Pretty bland and although the raspberry flavor is nice, the base beer is dull.
