Maybe some more hops would spice it up a bit. I like it better than other raspberry ales that I have had though. hogan873 (334), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 6, 2008 Cloudy light orange body with a small white head. Aroma is fairly sweet with berries, honey, and malt. Medium mouthfeel with some heavier carbonation at the back. Nice flavor with the sweetness of berries and malt up front leading to a tart finish. Not much of an aftertaste. Good fruit beer. popephred (193), Plainfield, Illinois, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Aug 31, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a cloudy, golden orange body topped by a small head of foam, which diminished fully and quickly. Some aroma of raspberry, though I was expecting more, also, there was hint of grain in the aroma. Tart, with a moderate amount of bitterness thrown in, combined with a moderate amount of carbonation and a medium body. The leafiness of the raspberries come through in this ale. True, I can get the taste of raspberries on the palate, but it is followed by a dry, bitter flavor that tastes like I received the batch that used the plant and not the berry. My expectation were not met with this ale. I will now have to brush my teeth to get this unpleasant bitterness out of my mouth. Bleargh! daknole (3002), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 30, 2008 Thanks acknud! Pours an amber/dried apricot color. Aroma is lightly malt and heavy on the berries. Flavor has some malt, raspberries and a slight tartness. Pretty damn good for a regular raspberry beer. skoll (135), Traverse City, Michigan, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 27, 2008 Drank this when I was camping out of a paper cup. Poured with a light colored head. Light tart raspberry aroma with a sweet tart hint. Ok, a raspberry ale, yeah, there are some hint of raspberries, some hint of malt, but rather weak in both with nothing else to back things up. It was still a nice beer to wash down a burger around the camp fire. WakeandBake (434), Greenville, Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours an amber/copper color, with a thin white head. The first thing I noticed was the wonderful fruit aroma, that matched the initial taste of raspberries and faint hops, later on I got some of the malt flavor to boot. Nothing really stood out in this Ale but I found it to be well rounded and enjoyed it.Will buy again. illkarate (92), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 16, 2008 Updated: Oct 29, 200812oz bottle. Pours a slightly murky, orangish gold color. Minimal head and only a touch of lacing. Raspberries are immediately detectable with this beer and they are actually pleasant - fading to a nice, tangy ale flavor on the back of the tongue, crisp and tart. As most are noting, it does have a dry finish. As with most fruit beers, you either love it or you hate it. I actually like this brew more than I thought I would. nbutler11 (769), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Updated: Aug 3, 2008Poured a hay/almost hefeweizen color from the tap with a white head. The aroma and taste of berries dominates this beer, which finishes dry--much like a barleywine. Refreshing pour for the summer.
