Nose of dried fruit, coffee and some light chocolate. Flavor has some oxidation, but once you get past that, it is rich with roasted malt, and coffee. Nice mouthfeel with light carbination. Almost has that cool coffee and the end of the shift taste to it. Very nice. General66 (171), Streator, Illinois, USA

Poured a jet black color with a one finger width brown head. I let this one sit for a bit before smelling it. It smelled of a lot of chocolate, coffee, and suggary malts. The taste was very good with a lot of chocolate and coffee with hints of vanilla and malt. Finished a bit bitter but was overall very drinkable. The only negative thing that I can say about this one is the mouthfeel... it was extremely light. Overall though a very tasty porter! hombrepalo (780), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Flavor is rich dark malt, cocolate. Sweetish finish. it tastes really dry, its great to take big gulps but you can realy feel at the back of your tounge. BeerZack (116), Austin, Texas, USA

Roasted coffee, some herbal/vegetal notes; some sweetness, some vanilla, bit of sarsparilla?
Very coffee-like. Dark chocolate, espresso, with an herbal hop edge. Almost tastes more like coffee than beer.
Low to moderate carbonation, pretty substantial, full, rich mouthfeel. Pretty drinkable, if you’re a coffee-lover. kmeves (1081), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 25, 2008 Bottle pours out black with nougat colored head that laces nicely. The aroma is roasted, chocolate, nutty, prune, and slightly smoked. The flavor is sweet, milk chocolate, slightly lactic, coffee, vanilla, and some hops to keep it honest. The palate is rich and lively enough to make it a decent beer experience. I’ve had a lot of good Porters lately, but this one seems pretty well structured. I like it. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 24, 2008 sampled from bottle: pours a dark opaque black colour with a small tan head. Aroma is enticing full of dark fruits- blackberries, black cherries and dark chocolate. Creamy, lightly carbonated but stern firm mouthfeel. Taste is pleasent, initially hint of sweetness which quickly mellows out into a thick nutty- syrupy taste.
