Tap at Eulogy. Poured dark black. This has the flavor of a stout and the body of a porter. Nice mouthful and nicely carbonated. Great coffee flavor and awesome. Bitter finish.

Bottle from West Lakeview. Pours black/brown with a creamy dark head. Nose is roasty and floral, cocoa as well. On taste, clean bitterness with a nice acrid note that pulls it together. Slightly sweet and chocolatey. Very nice.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured black with a thick brown head. Flavor was full of roasted malts with undertones of roasted coffee. Flavor begins with a mocha kick, but dark grain flavors take over giving a roasted malt flavor.

Courtesy of nbutler11, thanks Nick. It’s pitch black with a dark brown, creamy head and the aroma has notes of chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, cocoa and licorice – it’s full and alluring. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, coffee, light dark fruits, licorice and the overall impression is harmonic, nice, full and intense...

Excellent beer. A big brown head with lots of chocolate in the nose. The flavor is very smooth and rich. A dry chocolate finish. Well done.

Smell of chocolate and booze with a hint of vanilla. Smell gives the impression of light body.........smoked, roasted coffee malty nutty flavor. Good stuff!

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm, 2 Oct 2009) Black colour with frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with dark chocolate, strong black coffee and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruit, liquorice and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Slightly above medium body, with some sweetness. Very nice porter.

Pours black with a dark tan head. Strong coffee aroma backed by chocolate. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavor is primarily coffee with burnt malt. Definitely bitter. Finishes smooth and burnt and bitter. Very nice ale.
