Dark with an off white head. Aroma is sweet and malty, some creamy coffee. Flavor is sweet, malty, roasted coffee and roasted malts. Slightly bitter to balance it out. Nice.

Dec 7, 2009 Pours black as night, with virtually no head. Roasty chocolate and coffee teases the nostrils and tongue, with a hop kick and smooth finish. Not as creamy as I expected, but overall it improves as it warms.

Dec 6, 2009 Black oily pour with a thin tan head. Bitter roast and chocolate nose. Loads of roast as well. Mouthfeel is viscous and oily. Flavor is bitter Roast all the way through. chocolate malt, and deep earthy bitterness emanate off of this. Rich and very nice

Nov 25, 2009 12 oz bottle. Poured opeque black in color with a small tan head that left little lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, coffee. Tastes of roasted coffee, cream, oats, chocolate, fairly sweet. Nice lingering sweet chocolate, and coffee in the finish. Quite nice.

Nov 13, 2009 12 oz bottle into a tulip. Pours dark brown/black with a thin brown coffee-colored head that dissipated fully. Aroma is a wonderful mix of dark fruit (plums/dates), sweet malt, roast coffee, molasses, and bitter dark chocolate. Tastes of coffee, bitter hops, dark chocolate, and a touch of sweetness. Finishes quite dry. Thin, somewhat watery mouthfeel, but smooth with very subtle carbonation. Delicious, and the aroma really makes this one a winner.

Nov 10, 2009 Pours black. Smells of heavy roasted malts, chocolate and caramel. Taste is full bodied and a little ashy with notes of chocolate, coffee and a hops bitter to finish. Nice balance.
