Poured a deeper and cloudy/muddy amberish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of some citrus, toastiness, and a trace of herbalness. Tastes of stronger herbalness, toasted grains, citrus, and some caramel. The herbs are definitely more present in the tastes. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 17, 2009 Solid bodied hoppy red ale (hops are piney, grapefruit), nice malt (caramel) and yeasty (sourdough bread). Hangs together well. Definite spiciness from somethin’. Easy to drink. Sammy (4013), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Reddish brown, IBU of 10, with taste from an unlikely team of herbs found in various teas, including hibiscus. Above average mouthfeel. GodOfThunder (874), Orlando, Florida, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 30, 2009 Tap at DH. Pours an expected amber with thick off-white head, decent lacing. Aroma obviously very herbal. Flavor matched, but it just didn’t have what I would expect from an amber, some type of bite either from hops or malt, it had neither for me. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Tap at Ashley’s during Ann Arbor Brew Week Pub Crawl. Poured a dark brown (almost black) with an khaki head. Aroma consisted of dark fruits with malty undertone. There was also the slightest presence of spices and flora. Flavor began with sweet malty notes with a slight sour note but becomes darker with a caramel flavor entering and a slight bitterness. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 20, 2008 20 oz. draft poured draft at The Galway Tribes (Frankfort, IL). Poured a very nice reddish brown hue, slightly hazed, with a nice offwhite head. Aromas are interesting, caramel malts, some floral hops, and a telltale sweetness. Taste is similar, caramel malts, a roasted nutty aura, raisins, a sweet fruitiness that seems to be what was in the aroma. Hoppy bitterness comes in on the back end, but not as prominent as expected. A decent beer, sessionable, but a little bland and not very special. I don’t want to say cloying, but the herbal additives seemed to be the things that drove me away from this brew.. it seemingly added sweetness that I did not enjoy.
