Commercial Description:
Why is the Grim Reaper holding a mailbox? Well, that mailbox is from a dead Dark Horse beer. The Grim Reaper better know as "Death" was quite fond of our classic Sapient Summer Wheat Ale. When we changed it into a Belgian Style Triple, Death thought it would only be appropriate to bring something from that beer into this beer. So he picked the mailbox, and we weren’t about to argue with him. You can say what you want about him, but that Death sure has a big heart. So anyway...we brewed this beer with a Trappist yeast strain so it is very traditional. The flavors are incredibly complex with notes of mild fruit and finishes with a bit of clove. Although this beer is higher in alcohol it is very smooth and finishes dry on the palate.

Very fruity aroma, but the taste is pretty flat as far as triples go. Its finish though really does taste of cloves.

Poured like honey from the tap with a white head of foam. The disinct taste of pete seemed to dominate the hops in this beer, which finished like cotton.

Hazy, orange color with white head. Delicious fruit, aroma with an overpowering smell of citrus. Alcohol taste is very strong. It’s like orange juice with too much booze in it. Hate to say it, but it tastes better from the bottle than in a glass.

Murky yellow color and swamp fruit aroma. A little spice, a little dark fruit, a light apple, and a little malt all make it into the flavor profile. Finishes dry and a little strong.

12 oz. bottle - thanks to pepsican for the bonus brew; pours cloudy orange with suspended haze; thin head; sweet aromas of fruit and a little spice; some tartness, but mostly sweet and fruity; a little grainy too; not bad, but not quite my cup of tea

Bottle thanks to Double D. Unfiltered amber with a thin white head. Aroma of fruit, citrus, nuts, alcohol, dates and honey. Taste is sweet and fruity with nuts, sugar, banana and citrus. Finishes a bit nutty and has some alcohol to go with it. Decent trip.
