Commercial Description:
Why is the Grim Reaper holding a mailbox? Well, that mailbox is from a dead Dark Horse beer. The Grim Reaper better know as "Death" was quite fond of our classic Sapient Summer Wheat Ale. When we changed it into a Belgian Style Triple, Death thought it would only be appropriate to bring something from that beer into this beer. So he picked the mailbox, and we weren’t about to argue with him. You can say what you want about him, but that Death sure has a big heart. So anyway...we brewed this beer with a Trappist yeast strain so it is very traditional. The flavors are incredibly complex with notes of mild fruit and finishes with a bit of clove. Although this beer is higher in alcohol it is very smooth and finishes dry on the palate.

Hazy orange pour with a thin white head. Aroma is heavy sweet malts. Flavor is up front sweet malt and cream with cherry, clove, and some orange peel. Finishes on the sweeter side. Bitterness peaks at a 2. I hit the ABV spot on with my guess.

Pours cloudy, pale gold, with a quarter-inch head of white. Retention is short and a partial skim coat is left shortly thereafter. A few dots of lacework, but quite lacking for a Triple. Aromatics are yeasty, zesty, and phenolic. Plenty of earthy clove, bannana, bubblegum, and honey. Alcohol is evident. Thin to medium mouthfeel, soft and creamy. An interesting texture for a triple, lacking some of the classic crispness. Doughy, yeasty, and earthy on the pallet. Loads of bannana, cloves, and yeast-dusted apples. Bitterness is low, as is all other hopping. Plenty of alcoholic bite. Definately out of the standard 8-9% range for Triples. This one drinks a bit boozy, but no heat. Finishes with lingering bubblegum, bannana, alcohol, and yeasty honey. An interesting take on a the style, and definately stronger than most.

not my favorite style but done very well! dark copper pour with slight head. not much aroma but what there is is sweet. Sweet sweet flavor as well, light fruit and cloves. not as over powerng as the others beers in this style. I think that is why I like it. I wouldnt turn one down.

It pours a hazey orange colour, big fluffy white head, decidious fruits and very sweet. Banannas are definately prevalent and oranges or coriander, full of wheat and a little malty as well.

Aroma is fruity and malty with a slight nutty character to it. Color is cloudy dark orange-brown, kind of like apple cider. Very little white head. Flavor starts out sweet fruit with a slight bit of tartness to it, and through the finish the fruit tartness becomes more apparent. As it warms, the alcohol becomes more forward in the finish. Medium bodied and crisp. Not a bad Trippel ale but if I want the real deal I’ll shell out a couple more bucks for it.

Tried from bottle with Atlanta ratebeer crew at 5 Seasons North tasting. Very nice. Sweet. Mellow. Alcohol somewhat noticable. Light amber color. Saison aroma. Nice.
