Commercial Description:
Why is the Grim Reaper holding a mailbox? Well, that mailbox is from a dead Dark Horse beer. The Grim Reaper better know as "Death" was quite fond of our classic Sapient Summer Wheat Ale. When we changed it into a Belgian Style Triple, Death thought it would only be appropriate to bring something from that beer into this beer. So he picked the mailbox, and we weren’t about to argue with him. You can say what you want about him, but that Death sure has a big heart. So anyway...we brewed this beer with a Trappist yeast strain so it is very traditional. The flavors are incredibly complex with notes of mild fruit and finishes with a bit of clove. Although this beer is higher in alcohol it is very smooth and finishes dry on the palate.

(12oz bottle) Small beige head atop a particulate-filled apple juice body. Aroma is sweet, pear, sugar, orange, some yeast, alcohol. Taste is very sweet, orange, pear, yeast, some alcohol, light pepper. Sticky full body. Not bad, but too sweet.

Bright gold with light hazy touch, fizzy bubbly head. Sweet, sugary, yeasty and alcoholic aroma with light touch of spice. Soft body, yeasty character. Clean with slight alcoholic finish.

Light tan color, lots of white head, strong sweet and fruity aroma, slightly creamy sweet flavor. This is a good example of an abbey tripel with lots of overlapping complex tastes.

Poured a hazy reddish amber. Smells of warm yeasty sweetness, banana, and a lot of simcoe hops. Flavor is a sticky sweet blend of banana, bubblegum, clove, ans some spice. Pronounced simcoe hop body and finish. Very well hidden alcohol. Nice medium body.

this beer has a problem with consistency as mentioned zeswaft. Poured a utlra clear honey with a white head. Aroma was candy sugar, spiced apple juice, amd ueast/ Flavor was apple juste, pepper, wood, sugar, and yeast...it also had some "not good" funk going on with it...very unbalanced. Extremely undercarbonated.

Let me start by saying i’m standing next to cmubeerman and sersdf and we all have our own bottle of this. In a class all three look different and taste different. Mine smells like rubber and wood. Flavor is funky, a little candy sugar, a little wood, and rubber, and some bubble gum ester. luckily it will get me drunk. Mine is copper cloudy with little white head. not good.

sweet candyish aroma, not particularly strong but it’s nice. pretty sweet flavor too. little carbonation, pretty opaque (though my friends’ are really clear). a good amount of banana actually, and a little spices. heavy on the belgian yeasty flavor. good tripel. wow, really low on alcohol for the abv. towards the bottom the appearance is actually kinda ugly because of a lot of yeast chunks, so i’m going with 4 for appearance instead
