Commercial Description:
For those of you who don't know who "Scotty Karate" is... He is a local one man band who plays an amazing slurry of honky tonk influenced, punk country songs. His voice is amazing as well as his high energy shows. (Check him out @ www.scottykarate.com) So, we decided to make a beer and name it in his honor. This beer is a big, full bodied Scottish ale. It is 9.75% alc. but it is very smooth and balanced. Since Scotty is also very passionate about beer I asked him to write a description for you, so from the man himself... Aroma: Smells like A fresh caramel apple with a hint of cinnamon inside of cranberry shortbread. Or maybe fresh home made hard candy (from home economics class-7th grade). Flavor: Tastes like a smokey chocolate chip cookie, wild roadside cherry-asparagus, woody, crispy leaf on a fall day.

12oz bottle. Pours a murky, swamp water brown. A small, wispy off white head with little lacing. Nose was a little weak, great toasted malt flavor.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dark brown color ale with a small foamy head with minimal retention and some minimal lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with some toffee and caramel notes. Taste is a mix between some toffee and caramel malt with some quite sweet malt notes with some light dry hops. Body is quite full with some limited filtration and some good carbonation. Well done overall but I would have enjoyed it even more with some peat smoke malt notes.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet with over ripe fruit being the most dominant note.

bottle from Archerliquors. Brown with almost no head. Caramel aroma and taste with some nice musty old ale type notes. Alcohol sneaks up on you, but it’s quite nice.

12 oz bottle - Pours a hazy dark red almost black color with almost non-existant head. Aroma is full of deeply roasted caramel, notes of chocolate, cherries, chewy malts. Flavor is full of highly kilned malts, deep caramel, bit of cherry and orange peel. Finish is warm, balanced just on the sweet side. Hides its alcohol remarkably well.

Pours hazy dark amber with a mostly receding off-white head. Tastes of toffee, caramelized wort, some dark fruits from the thick malt. Mouthfeel is full bodied with moderate carbonation. Didn’t pick up any peat or smoke, would like to try again though. This is just a big ’ole scotch ale, potentially a good cellar choice.

On tap at the Brewery. Solid drier Scottish Strong Ale. The dryness in it makes it much more drinkable, enough with the strong tones of sweetness and alcohol. NIce peat smokiness. A stellar job by a stellar brewery.

Poured dirty brown with carmel, butterscotch, and malt head. Relativly smooth beer, hiding alcohol quite well. Flavor is mostly carmelized malt and butterscotch. Really enjoyable beer, I would definately drink this one again.
