Flavor was wonderful balance of smokey sweet bacon, hints of chocolate and earthy peatiness, all balanced wonderfully. I was liking this one. ChainGangGuy (2597), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Appearance: Pours a medium brown body with a thin, beige head.
Smell: Rich caramel maltiness with an intensely bready scent, akin to a fresh-baked loaf of multi-grain bread. Notes of dehydrated fruit chunks, some wood, and a lil’ peat.
Taste: Dark caramel maltiness, a taste of sweet sugar. Then, you get your face smooshed into that loaf of bread. Slight peat character. Dried apricots and cherries. Medium earthy bitterness. Drying, wood-hinted finish.
Mouthfeel: A hair above medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Plenty tasty! I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to have another. amishcaravan (237), Winona, Minnesota, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Kind of a malty scent that looks thicker in the pour than it actually is. Some caramel and sweet flavors, and very easy to drink. No idea this was 9.75%. Not incredibly scotchy, but its there. Good overall. Could easily fill an empty spot in a 6 pack, or just grab 6 of them and enjoy a night. shp555 (1690), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Dark, cloudy red-brown, with a small off-white head that gives up the ghost pretty quick. Nose is fairly sweet, with some chocolate, plums, some cinnamon. Flavor is sugary-sweet, with some nice, subdued spicy notes (black pepper, coriander), a solid nutty bitterness, more plums or prunes. . Davinci (296), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 22, 2008 Hazy brown with thin tannish head. Aroma is light roasty sugars, resinous wood, vanilla, maybe strawberry and grape hidden in there too. Starts out very boozy and raisiny. kind of harsh initially. Smooths greatly over ten minutes or so with growing raisin and malt characters. Alcohol follows the sweet low carbonation sips. There is a slight smokyness and woody character that add some dimension and balance.
