Aroma of toasted malt, chocolate, and slight smoke. Flavor matches, but has surprisingly little complexity to it. Alotgether a very drinkable scotch ale, but nothing special. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 24, 2009 Bottle from stfun... I think. Drank with a scotty karate, that I know... Poured into a pint glass, not much head, brown with a red tint. Malty aroma with some sugar? Taste is the same very malty, sugary, but not in bad way... sort of like a weeheavy... Average texture and carbonation level.... Overall a solid sipping beer, Thanks Josh for the hookup! ajm (935), Los Angeles, California, USA

Nose of caramel, sweet malt, very light milky chocolate, sugar. Flavor is the same and rich. Rather low on peat, which I like, though whatever they did use imparts a coppery twang right at the end. Still, very drinkable. Pastor (509), Maine, USA

Bottle poured into a snifter produced a finger worth of off white head that disappears quickly leaving no lace. The brew has a cloudy brown colored body.
The aroma is very sweet, dark fruits and sweet malts hit my nose first. It is then followed by some nice peat and a smoky earthiness. The flavor follows the nose rather closely it is sweet and smoky. There is a good balance in it so one attribute doesn’t overpower the other. The feel in my mouth is medium and there is almost no carbonation left in this brew at all. I didn’t get to much heat from this either considering the ABV
A rather nicely sippable Wee Heavy I would gladly drink it again Thanks again Tyson Avengedpoet (325), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 12, 2009 Thanks to rustychiles for the share on this one. Pours a very turbid brown. Lots of haze and not much head. Aroma (depending on the glass) is either very malty and dripping with crystal malt (very similar to kilt lifter) or super smoky and charred smelling. Taste is smoky and caramelly. The aftertaste is (I shit you not) EXACTLY the same as barbeque pringles. Very weird and interesting. rustychiles (1056), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Aroma is peat, caramel malts, smoke. Flavor is peat, smoke, caramel, faded hops. Finish is lingering with something almost bbq pringles like. Decent brew. markwise (1186), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 31, 2009 Thanks goryskewych for this one. Pours translucent brown- typical Scotch Ale color with a small dark tan head. Nose is toasted malt, some smoke, brown sugar, molasses, and an almost creme brulee sweetness. Flavor is smoke (almost band-aid) that retreats to reveal whiskey, toasted malt, and a syrupy sweetness with a hop bitterness that encircles the camp. Smoke flavor returns for the finish of this beer. Light to medium body and mild alcohol burn characterize this Scotch Ale.
