Commercial Description:
For those of you who don't know who "Scotty Karate" is... He is a local one man band who plays an amazing slurry of honky tonk influenced, punk country songs. His voice is amazing as well as his high energy shows. (Check him out @ www.scottykarate.com) So, we decided to make a beer and name it in his honor. This beer is a big, full bodied Scottish ale. It is 9.75% alc. but it is very smooth and balanced. Since Scotty is also very passionate about beer I asked him to write a description for you, so from the man himself... Aroma: Smells like A fresh caramel apple with a hint of cinnamon inside of cranberry shortbread. Or maybe fresh home made hard candy (from home economics class-7th grade). Flavor: Tastes like a smokey chocolate chip cookie, wild roadside cherry-asparagus, woody, crispy leaf on a fall day.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet with over ripe fruit being the most dominant note.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of markgugs. Pours a hazy, dark, orangey brown with an off-white head. Distinct and very intense licorice aroma. Quite full-bodied with an intense and very solid malt base of roated malts as well as accents of nuts and again licorice. There’s a slight, perfumy edge and a weak, burned touch. The mouthfeel is a little tired. 041007

Body: very low carbonation almost to the point of being flat yet still a creamy body,
Flavor: rich dark caramel flavor, lots of smokey peat, light earthy bitterness, only a touch of sweetness from the caramel malts but the earthy peat keeps it dry,

Bottle. A dark amber beer with a beige head. The aroma is light roasted, dusty, caramel and light smoked. The taste is the same, smooth in a medium to full body with a sweet nutty, light alcoholic finish.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with Styles (thanks!). Poured a medium to deeper mahogany color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of peat, toffee, lightly smoky, and some dark fruits. Tastes of peat, light alcohol, smoke, earthy, and caramel. Overall the alcohol was well hidden with the light alcohol finish.
