Dough77 (771), Aurora, Illinois, USA Feb 19, 2009 I really enjoyed this one. Dark pour with tan head. Fresh friggin blueberry aroma, wow its fantastic. Fruits mixed with chocolate, malt. An honest treat. The blueberries are potent, but perfectly mixed with the sweet chocolates, and slight coffee. And at 4.5%! I could drink it all night. Aroma is lots of toasted malts with an ever so slight blueberry. Flavor is your usual coffee and chocolate but there is a nice blueberry there almost hidden but it does make an appearence. The best thing i can say about this beer is that its different. BeerBunker (607), Burbank, Illinois, USA Feb 16, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours black with a frothy brown head. Nice brown lacing lasts for almost the entire beer. Aroma is of blueberries, chocolate, caramel, and dark fruit. Taste is very bitter at first, and takes a few sips to get used to. Once it settles it tastes of caramel, chocolate, malt, coffee, and dark fruit. The blueberry taste is not overpowering, but simply blends in with the other flavors. It lingers on after each sip. Body is very creamy. Finish is very dry with lots of coffee. Not something I could drink more than one of, but a very tasty beer. noncaloric (601), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Feb 15, 2009 Pours brown-black with a large, foamy, coffee-brown head. Blueberry is the principal aroma, some anise and toast follow. On the flavor, blueberry melds well with the dark fruit and bitter melon roasted barley elements; the finish is more of dark chocolate. A little bit too burnt. Medium bodied, somewhat thin compared to the flavors, mild carbonation. aaaaaaaaaah (61), Warren, Michigan, USA Feb 11, 2009 Drank at Dark Horse in Marshall MI. Small creamy light brown head with fair lacing. Body hue is black. Smells of moderate caramel malt mostly blueberries, and reminds me slightly of Guinness. Flavor of sour blueberry, very smooth stout, finish had no coffee but slightly bitter sour blueberries. Surprisingly dry. Medium body with a slight creamy feel and soft carbonation. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Feb 9, 2009 Bottle courtesy of fiver29. Pours a pitch black with a one finger brown head. that fades quickly but leaves slick lacing. The nose is blueberry chocolate muffins! The taste is dry cocoa, ashy malt, black coffee with light chocolate covered blueberries in the finish. Medium creamy mouth feel. Man, when this one poured I thought it was going to be all blueberry, but it’s a good stout nicely infused with hints of blueberry. Another great one from this brewery. Thanks John! jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Feb 8, 2009 Black in color with an average tan head. Aroma is of tea, blueberry, mint and roasted malts.
