Dark Horse Tres Blueberry Stout

Aroma of liqourice - but I guess that’s from the blueberries. The flavor is similar. There is also a roasted aroma and flavor.

Dark brown with medium head. sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and berry notes. sweet flavor with fairly hard roasted malt, caramel, coffee and mint notes. ends sweet.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours brown to black with almost no head. Dense roasted and liqourice aroma. Aroma is dry,spiced and hard roasted malt with a nice chocolate smoothness. Bitter and hardroasted malt finish. Finish is dry and roasted. Nice one.

Bottle. Small brownish creamy head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, blueberries and roasted malt. Over the palate came mild burned malt, bitter coffee and chocolate. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and mild alcoholic thick texture. Moderated sweet and bitter flavor. Taste is a slightly smokey roasted malt with a blueberry finish that starts dry and finishes sweet and fruity. Very nice.

Dark reddish brown with a medium brown slowly dissipating head. Aroma of blueberried, roasted malt, chocolate and a touch of smoke. Flavor of roasted malt, coffee, blueberries, smoked malts and chocolate. Smooth body has very mild bitterness. Mild dry finish with blueberries slowly creeping into the finish. Not overly sweet, just a well made fruit stout.

Pours black with a tiny ring of carbonation. Smells amazing, like a confection made of blueberries and dark chocolate. The flavor is less compelling. Lightly sweet yet quite rich malt and blueberry blend with a drier finish. Worth a try, at least.
