Snojerk321 (1914), San Diego, California, USA Jun 9, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours black with a small chocolate head. Awesome aromas of chocolate, blueberry, and toffee. The light blueberry flavor was just right, balanced by a heavy malt presence and a tiny bit of hops. nmouncey (6), Indiana, USA does not count Jun 5, 2008 Very dark in color, like dark treacle. Very little blueberry flavour, just enough to provide a small degree of fruity sweetness at the end. Perhaps a little medicinal in taste but overall very drinkable. JohnC (2227), Mission Viejo, California, USA Jun 1, 2008 Nice blueberry nose, the flavor of blueberry is very muted in this dry stout. Thx to whomever brought it to noogfest 08 Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours a black body and a thin off white head with some minor ruby brown hues. Aroma and flavor is sweet blueberry pie, a little etoh, sweet bitter chocolate malt and a touch of blueberry. The finish is a nice blueberry flavor. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 17, 2008 Updated: Feb 7, 2009Thanks xnoxhatex! Pours dark thick black with a wonderful brown chocolate creamy froth. Great aroma of smokey woody blueberries! Flavor follows, quite smokey and woody with a great chocolate blueberry vanilla spice flavor. Medium bodied, creamy with light carbonation. This stuff is very yummy! 9.5.8.4.17
[Rerate - 09 bottle enjoyed 2.7.09] Pours a very dark unclear brown with a medium bubbly brown froth, 4.5. Aroma is similar to previous description with maybe a bit more green hops and some blueberry muffin. Nice sweet chocolate flavor and slightly tart tangy blueberries with a bit of hops and hint of smokiness. Medium bodied, actually a bit thin, large soft carbonation bubbles. Love the blueberry accents and its quite drinkable, more like a blueberry porter. 8.4.8.4.16 Tripplebrew (486), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA May 16, 2008 Pours a charcoal brown with no head. Aroma is mostly coffee and roasted malts. Flavor is toasted malts and coffee with a very light creamy fruit undertone that adds a creaminess to the flavor. Beyond that it isn’t ’blueberry’ just this creamy sweetness that has an accent more than just sugar. complex flavor. Body is fairly thick light carbonation. Very impressed with this beer. WisconsinBeer (514), St Paul, Minnesota, USA May 16, 2008 12 oz bottle. Opens with a very faint escape of carbonation, almost too little to hear.Dark dark black in color, almost no head to speak of. I was a bit skeptical of this beer, because I thought the blueberries would overwhelm. However, I’m pleasantly surprised. They play a very minimal role in the flavor. Prominent flavors are milk chocolate, roasted malts, and chocolate covered blueberries. Definitely a sweet stout. Full bodied, a bit syrupy. Solid. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA May 16, 2008 Beer from discoun Opaque black with that dark burn head, not unlike dark lord. Intense blueberry, and dark malt. Bitter blueberry, with a slight sweetness, but overall very dry, slight roast and smoke as well. This is overall a pretty great stout, sweet yet dry, very nice.
