ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Mar 24, 2008 Appearance: Pours a plain, unassuming black body with a small tan head.
Smell: Dark roasted malts with a pleasant, clear-cut blueberry scent. Though crammed into one sentence, I assure you it is a really lovely aroma.
Taste: Blueberry fruitiness right out of the game. Some sweet dark malts struggle to keep up. Taste of sugar-crusted chocolate muffin tops. More blueberries for the finish.
Mouthfeel: A bit above medium-bodied. Mild carbonation.
Drinkability: It’s actually pretty nice. The flavors contrast and complement each other quite well. brewcrew2002 (50), USA Mar 23, 2008 Poured very dark and thick, the aroma matched the taste kind of a blueberry syrup. Overall not too bad of a beer fiver29 (703), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Mar 23, 2008 Bottle pours a pitch black with tan head. Head does not last long. Mouthfeel is medium. Smells of chocolate and blueberry waft from the glass. Has complex flavors of chocolate, roasted beans, and blueberries. Nice long finish. Very tasty. TheRealBastard (141), The-No, California, USA Mar 22, 2008 This is the most impressive smelling beer I’ve ever had. The nose on this is pure Blueberry and nothing else. Unbelievable. After that this beer falls apart completely. Does not taste like blueberry only smells like it. Very boring and thin bodied beer. Expected more after smelling it, disapointing. Recommended only because of the nose on this one. islay (470), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Mar 22, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Blueberry / blueberry pie / blueberry syrup unmistakable in the first sniff. Aroma also features dry, roasted coffee bean and dark chocolate scents. The blueberry and classic stout smells work surprisingly well together. Pours a very dark, almost black color with a miniscule amount of dark tan head. No lacing. Simple but cool appearance. The taste features a stout start with a blueberry finish. The blueberry flavor comes in a sugared, treated form, like blueberry syrup or blueberry jam. Heavily roasted malt taste. A tartness develops upon multiple sips. This is too coffee-like by my standards, and yet the blueberry presence is excessively fruit-sweet. This beer takes some getting used to, and I’m up and down on the taste. Long, roasted coffee-bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body. Not bad in the palate but completely forgettable. Dark Horse Tres is a very interesting beer with an unusual aroma, appearance, and flavor. I don’t think the blueberry stout concept works very well here in the flavor, but I like the idea in general. This is a challenging beer both to the palate and to the throat (that is, it’s hard to analyze and hard to drink). Nonetheless, I respect what Dark Horse is trying to do with this product, and I am awarding an extra point in the overall score for uniqueness. I rarely recommend a beer that I give only a 3.2 rating, but I do suggest that people try this fascinating brew if they get the chance. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Mar 22, 2008 Dark - almost entirely black. There is a distinct blueberry accent to the slightly chocolatey, slightly burned stout. Too carbonated - really knocks out a lot of the flavour. Hints of fruit but its a simple, uninteresting mix. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Mar 9, 2008 Date: 02/24/2008

tennisjoel (931), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA Mar 8, 2008 Body is black with a tan head. Roasted malt aroma, with chocolate and blueberry in the background. A nice combination for sure. The blueberry and coffee compliment each other well in the flavor. A different and interesting beer. I like beers where the fruit aspect is secondary versus a strong fruit beer. Very nice for a low alcohol beer.
