The flavor is rather bland and acidic on the throat and the blueberries aren’t too discernible. weepster (2), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Thanks Duane. Dark tan head, pours black. Aroma is amazing blueberry, nice to smell a blueberry beer that’s not ’fake’ blueberry or that uses too little fruit. Taste is blueberry and chocolate malt, excellent all the way down the glass. Definitely one of the top three bluberry beers I’ve had. CharlesDarwin (1835), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA

All the seeds, stem, flesh and skin of wild blueberries coalesces with a real refined stout character. Light coffee, bright dusty dark cocoa, and lightly cooked blueberries. Pours deep black with a quickly rising rim of hot chocolate tan foam. Probably one of the darkest heads I’ve ever seen. Flavor is right on spot two. Man, the blueberries and the stout work hand in hand. A big part of this is that this is an awesome stout, even without the blueberries. And it’s not all in your face blueberries. It’s a subtle, earthy fruit. Just like wild. Great roasted character, subtle saltiness, and then a very mild blueberry skin approach. A glimmer of hops provides depth to the beer. Carbonation is on point. Fresh. A great stout, paired with the perfect amount of the right fruit. Excellent! gearbike (414), West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA

Big wiff of blueberry but the blueberry is rather subdude in the taste. Medium body. Somewhat of a light fig type sweetness. Only bad thing about this beer is the label. Super blueberry chocolate malt aroma has a hint of raisin. Dark black brown body with a quick foamy red head. Dry malty blueberry flavour has some chocolate smoky alcohol notes. Full body has a dry finish. Very nice, plus eating chocolate actually brings out the blueberry fruit more. Guerde (699), Welcome, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 11, 2008 (bottle) Pours black with a dark tan head that rings around the glass. Aroma initially is of blueberry muffin, mixed with some roasted malt. The aroma changes to more coffee upon warming, and then to more molasses/brown sugar. The taste is a nice mixture of blueberry and roasted malt with some coffee present too. Medium mouthfeel. OSLO (826), Perth, Australia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 11, 2008 [Bottle, thanks Guerde] Pours dark brown with a small dark tan head. Aroma is blueberry, roasted malt, coffee, maple syrup and a little alcohol. Taste is blueberry up front which slowly transforms into a charred malt taste that then dominates. The charred taste got to be a little too much after awhile, but still pretty good. Medium-mouthfeel with a fairly long, dry finish. A good and unique beer, but the heavily charred taste just isn’t something I usually like much in my beers.
