Commercial Description:
A full bodied stout made with all malted barley and blueberry. Flavors of chocolate, roast malt and light blueberry make up the palate with lots of fruity blueberry aroma.

Black with a large head on the pour that disappeared and left not trace. Light aroma of nothing distinguishable. The flavour has only a hint of blueberry, it seems very acidic and has more of a coffee feel. Bit of chocolate and burnt malts. I’d like to taste it with more blueberry as it may calm some of the big acidic and burnt flavours.

Bottle: Black, nice tan head and no lacing. Nose of fig, incense; the hops are too earthy and bright, clashes with the berry (columbus maybe?). Vague blueberry. The flavor is more balanced but isn’t as bright. This really needs an over the top berriness like the walking man cherry stout. Finishes nutty, stouty. Lacks cohesion.

Bottle. Thanks to Styles for this one. Poured a dark black body with thin head. Light blueberry aroma, roasted malt. Flavor is bitter sweet, syrupy blueberry taste, sugary, with a light chocolate undertone. Nice dessert beer.

Pours black, with a brown head. Coffee, blueberry, chocolate, and roasted malt aroma. Blueberries are more upfront in the flavor, with roasted malt, coffee, and some chocolate. A little thin on the palate. I’m liking this one a lot.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a modest tanned head. Nose is definitely blueberry up front; it starts to float about the room. A little coffee is detected too. The blueberry is present in taste into a coffee and bittersweet chocolate blend. Flavors competed a bit here rather than complimenting each other. Thanks Eithcubes.

Skyview continues the haul of goods... Black color with a thin head. Outstanding blueberry aroma. The taste descends into a sickly sweet blueberry with a strong bitterness opposing it. Good in theory.

12oz. Bottle $11.49 6-pack Liquor Stop Ever since I first heard of this beer I’ve been interested in giving it a try. Finally was able to pick up a six-pack in IN. This is a truly dark stout that pours with a deep brown half finger head. It may be my imagination but it seems like there’s a hint of blue in the head. The smallish head falls fairly quickly to a swirling. The swirling is menacing moving slowly along the top of this black hole of a body. The smell is really something unique. It’s fresh and bold with notes of molasses, freshly ground coffee and a blueberry sweetness. The blueberry is mild but you know it’s there and adds a really nice touch. Toward the end a freshly ground black pepper spiciness shows up. Again, very unique and inviting. The flavor is much the same as the aroma but without the molasses. First up is a hint of bittersweet chocolate but quickly taken over by the bright, bold freshly ground coffee. It reminds me of some of the chilled coffee that’s around. Then the spiciness of the black pepper and the faint blueberry come through. Finishes mildly bitter with coffee grounds. A big flavored, bright beer. The mouthfeel is on the heavier side of medium. Smooth and creamy body that works slowly through the mouth. Very nicely done. This beer can be sipped on all night long. Especially on a cold night like tonight. I don’t usually give stouts such a high mark for drinkability but Tres deserves it. This beer surprised me. It sounded interesting before I even picked it up but after drinking a few it really is a wonderful beer. I didn’t think there would be anyway it would score this well from me. I’m picking this up every time I see it anywhere. 1/29/07

Not too shabby. I was a little hesitant due to not having good experiences with deliberate fruit-flavored stouts. Pours an oily black with no head and a slight amber ring around the top. The blueberries stand out in the aroma along with some chocolate and coffee. The first taste of this kind of threw me. It was all coffee and no blueberries, not necessarily bad but different. Beyond that first taste I was able to pick up the blueberries initially and it would tail off to a malty, coffee finish with just a little bit of a mocha taste. All in all, a decent session brew.
