Commercial Description:
A full bodied stout made with all malted barley and blueberry. Flavors of chocolate, roast malt and light blueberry make up the palate with lots of fruity blueberry aroma.

Pours pitch oil black with almost no head. The blueberries are definitely dominant in the smell, mixed in with the typical stout characters, chcoclate, dark malts, roastiness, etc. Taste has some blueberry in it for sure, but not as heavy as in the nose. Mixes pretty well with the rest of the stout characteristics. I think blueberry is a great fruit to incorporate into a stout. Very thick and nice mouthfeel, slightly bitter finish, but overall solid brew.

Bottle...incredible blueberry aroma, does not carry through as much to the palate. Nice creamy stout for the backbone.

Bottle, thanks to ogglethorp. Poured black with no light coming through and no head, just a thin tan oil slick cover. Aromas of roasted coffee, chocolate and blueberry. Very nice flavors, lots of coffee with the background blueberry. As it warmed in my snifter, the roasty coffee flavor really picked up and the blueberry faded. Excellent mouthfeel, slick and creamy with a good finish. A ver nice beer.

12 oz bottle thanks to BigErn, thanks a lot Sean. A bit of sludge on the inside of the mouth, nice. As I pop the cap I can smell blueberry, I like. Poured completely black with zero clarity throughout the pour. No head and just a tad of brown lacing. Aroma is moderate with light stout roastiness, light coffee, and a sweet berry aroma that comes in at the end. Taste is a bit empty at the start but the light roastiness kicks in near the end with a perfect sweet blueberry aftertaste. Low bitterness and average carbonation. Downsides: a bit thin and not enough initial flavor. The blueberry is just how I would want it but I would like a fuller stronger stout in general, still very good though.

Tap @ Romans. Black body, dark tan head. Strong blueberry aroma with a roasty chocolate background. Again big blueberry flavor with a good sweet stout backing. Very natural blueberry flavor; good beer.

I really loved this beer. Pours a dark purple with a very small head. Hints of blueberry in the taste but not overwhelming. actually the blueberry flavoring is just perfect. I also taste hints of chocolate. Also the smell is wonderful. It smells like blueberry juice.

12 oz bottle. Impenetrable purple brown with a dying crema head. Blueberries rise up even as i pour. Closer, more blueberries with a trace of pink grapefruit. Expecting a fruit beer i was pleasantly surprised to find a rugged stout. Begins a bit fizzy. Dark chocolate and coffee melt away leaving grape Nehi and grapefruit zest. Smooth, medium body. Dry finish with light berry. Fruit flavor is there but doesn’t detract. I continue to be impressed with Dark Horse.

Poured black with a moderate tan head. Slightly fruity aroma, but it also has a sweet roasty, almost nutty smell. Pretty thin mouthfeel, which was disappointing. Blueberry taste is there, but way in the background. The finish is slightly roasty. The thin mouthfeel and muted flavors are at odds with the Dark Horse brews I’ve had so far.
