| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 25, 2009 Pours black with ruby-brown highlights and a thin, creamy brown head that has good retention but is very thin. Aroma is roast, blueberry pancake mix, cumin, overripe apple, dark caramel, espresso and cocao. Flavor is roast, chocolate and char up front, followed by burnt blueberry pancakes, butter sauteed nuts, overcooked duck, slightly burnt arabica coffee, lots of cumin and curry spice notes. Finish is slightly metalic, roasty, burnt blueberry pancakes still and some bitterness. Palate is suprisingly thick, somewhat sweet troughout and pretty slippery. Overall this beer is kinda hard to rate for me, there are alot of things that I like about it but several things I really don’t, I am gonna have to go middle of the road with it. jah noth (1015), Rochester, New York, USA

Inky black with tinted beige head. This not doing it for me - burnt caramel and rotten fruit, FlssmrBrewAlum (1115), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 12, 2009 12 oz bottle courtesy of the Binnys singles rack (Orland Park, IL). Pours a big billowy dark brown head with pitch black opaque body. Laces well, head dissipates to a moderate amount. Initial has a touch of roasted malts, moving to a light sweetness and tart natural blueberry tannins. Sweet, yet enjoyable. A thicker than expected body, but nothing too heavy, pushing dark roasted malts, light coffee and chocolate with a fair bitterness from the roast. Blueberry essence pushes into the body, emphasizing more tannin than fruity sweetness, lending a very nice interesting spin. Pushes more chocolate, coffee, and roast further into the body. Not as good as the Goose Island version, but a very good stout with great fruit compliment, without preaching fruity dominance. Yum. swoopjones (1897), Buffalo, New York, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Pours thick black with a lovely, thick, red-broen head. Strong blueberry aroma atop a coffee-chocolate roast malt base. Flavor is actually quite dry: chocolaty roast malt with a bit of a fruity tartness and a long, lingering smoky finish. The bluberries are definitely there, but as a more of a nuance than a strong flavor. This works remarkably well. Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel. A very successful fruity stout. danielcurtis81 (885), San Diego, California, USA

Pours almost black with a red toned brown head. Nose is of warm blueberry muffins with nice malt notes. Taste is nice blueberry, mild white pepper, and good roasted malt. At times the blueberry taste artificial but not the whole time. Mouth has a nice mild carbonation and a long dry finish. If you like blueberries this is a must try. ditmier (1059), Boise, Idaho, USA
