Pitch, PITCH black in colour-like used motor oil. Small brown head that fades very fast. Crazy looking beer-but nice! Aroma of pure blueberry muffins, light chocolate, roasted malt and a small amount of sugars. Medium-bodied; Sharp roasted malt taste up front with blueberries and chocolate lingering behind. Aftertaste shows trailing bitterness from the roasted malt with a light blueberry flavour, a small coffee nod and a stronger dark chocolate (around ~70% cacao) taste. Overall, a decent beer-great to try and neat to look at! I sampled this twelve ounce beer purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 14-November-2004, after about a year or so of holding on to it.

Bottle shared with jerc & mabel - my bottle obtained from HogTownHarry. Very dark black with a dark mocha head. Great aroma - charred malt, dark roasted coffee, and blueberry. Smooth mouthfeel. As jerc notes, the blueberry seems subdued in the flavour at first - notes of roast malt, chocolate, coffee and smoke are more prominent - but we were snacking on brownies while drinking this, and the chocolate really brought the blueberry forward - so much so that I could taste it even once we started on the next beer of the tasting. Very unique, and very good.

12oz bottle via trade with SuIIy - Thanks Mike! - Pours black with a creamy mocha head that laces very well down the glass. Aroma is a smooth mix of chocolate, coffee, and that blueberry. Very nice aroma. Flavor is an interesting and quite delicious blend of blueberries and chocolate/coffee stout goodness. Amazing how well the two flavors go together. Palate is smooth creamy and full bodied. A beautiful creamy mouthfeel. This is some very nice stuff..

Pours with a good sized brown head that quickly settles on the black body. Huge blueberry/flowery aroma, big blueberry taste with a light ending. Incredibly smooth tasting. A unique stout that I hope to try again. Thanks PsychProf!

12 oz bottle, via Styles. Black as motor oil pour with a thin covering of a chocolate brown head. Enormous fresh blueberry pie aroma over a dark roasted malt base. Some light coffee and alcohol peeking through. Roasted and burnt malt flavor backed up by fresh blueberries. Coffee and light alcohol in the finish. Thick and full bodied mouthfeel with light fine bubbled carbonation. Probably the most interesting fruited stout I’ve had. You’d think from the aroma that this would be an overly sweet blueberry bomb, but they do an amazing job of maintaining the integrity of the base beer.

12oz bottle, courtesy of artusory. Thanks, Ryan! Pours a dark, dark brown color with a maroon tinge; medium tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Blueberries and roasted malts and bitter chocolate in the aroma. Medium-to-full mouthfeel, with light carbonation: shows overripe blueberries and roasted malts upfront, followed by dark chocolate and hints of a citrus bitterness; well-balanced and maintains a pleasant viscosity for a 4.5% beer. Ends quite dry, showing milk chocolate and roasted malts.

12 oz. bottle. Want list bonus from BrianK. Thanks Brian! Dark brown, slightly thick pour with no real head. Big roasted chocolate malt aroma that is cut nicely by assertive blueberries. Taste is a slightly smokey roasted malt with a blueberry finish that starts dry and finishes sweet and fruity. Very nice.

a gift from Mike (BBB63) - thanks! Black bodied - poured with a huge dark cocoa brown head that almost overflowed then slowly settled. Sweet and roasty aroma. Taste is malty licorice, chewy coffee raisons, and very subtle fruit - the blueberry, I assume. Mildy hoppy finish and continuing fruityness. More blueberry at the end.
