Complex aroma of smoked blueberry muffins, black coffee, mocha, and bitter-sweet dark chocolate. Up front flavors of burnt blueberry and espresso bitterness, with a light sweetened toasty caramel malt lying below the surface. Medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, drying, bitter-sweet, blackened blueberry finish. This brew was awesome! It’s a bit different and quite unique, and that’s a major part of it’s appeal in my book... StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2005 Thick pour, opaque and inky black in appearance with a barren expanse of nothing for the head. Aroma elicits an audible "hell yeah," defined by blueberry mocha java, black currant, burnt rubber, dark chocolate and a hint of boysenberries. More easy going flavor than the nose would indicate. Tart, thawing, juicy blueberries with a dark chocolate cocoa powder complexion. Blackberry jam joins a lactic, dark roasted cafe treat. Some singed black cherry traits as well. Medium bodied and slickly expansive. Mild vinous complexity hints as its ability to shine for some time. Beautiful finish of artisan coffee grinds and chocolate blueberry muffins. Big thanks to Styles for this one! MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA

I like blueberries. Blueberries in beer is right up my alley. Big aroma of blueberries and as that subsides, a bit of roasty stout-like qualities come out. Lots of roasted malt in the flavor and pretty dry also. Quite a bit of carbonation. A good stout with the addition of blueberries make this a winner. tronraner (1933), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2007 Draught at Rich O’s. Pours black with amber edges and thin tan head. The aroma is blueberry muffins, anise, and some spice. The flavor is blueberry, lemon, coffee, cinnamon, and scented candles. The finish is slightly floral. This mixture of flavors didn’t really float my boat, but it’s still a pretty good beer. travita (1927), Frisco, Texas, USA

pours deep black, thin and quickly disappearing mocha head.
Aroma is malty, light roast, some berries that had a nice almost sweet vanilla aroma.
Taste, coffee, roasted malts, light blueberry palate that was optimal and not overly bitter with some added chocolate.
Interesting approach and a lot better than my Buffalo Bill Blueberry Stout experience. swoopjones (1917), Buffalo, New York, USA

Strong, sweet black coffee and softchocolate aromas with a light, sweet blueberry puree quality. A bit thin, but with a liveliness not common to a stout. Flavor follows the nose, the berries more pronounced after fully warming. Blueberry and chocolate finish. Pleasant suprise!
