| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 26, 2007 A deep black pour under a short & short-lived head the color of wet sand. At first I didn’t quite catch the blueberry in the aroma, instead focusing on the roasted maltiness and chocolate edges. Shortly thereafter, I caught a strong whiff of the berries, which seemed more soapy than fruity. Interesting, though. Additional notes of wildflowers. Flavor is an oddity with milk chocolate and berries and coffee roasts all clashing together at once. Each becomes more discernable in the aftertaste, at times very bitter and almost wooden, at times sugary sweet. Cherry, mint and even strawberry stouts I can understand, but I’ve never had chocolate-covered blueberries and I think I now know why. It doesn’t really "go"... does it? Ah, well. A unique experiment, I suppose.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 25, 2004 Pours a deep dark oily black, looks almost like an Imperial Stout. Little to no head. The aroma is pure blueberry. Man I love blueberry. This is real bluberry, none of that fake Booberry shit. Roasted malt choco-coffee dominates the aroma, but there is still plenty of blueberry. The palate is medium, semi-dry, with a long roasty finish. Major props to the brewerr for pulling off the killer fresh blueberry aroma and flavor that has been lacking in all other bluberry beers I have ever had. emacgee (1888), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 10, 2008 Thanks tytoanderso. Pours a gorgeous black brew with a one finger creamy chestnut brown head. All of their dark stuff pours beautifully, I can’t wait to try more. The aroma is a bit roasty, sweet blueberry background, chocolatey, sweet coffee. The flavor is very very nice, smooth chocolatey blueberry, very nice subdued berry. The blueberry plays a very nice background but it still lets the beer be a stout. Coffee, roast, and a nice waxy hop presence make for one round beer. ucusty (1887), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

Dark pour in the center of he glass yielded around a 1 finger head. strong blueberry aroma. Gum, blueberry, roast and some slight smoke. Much better than anticipated! mar (1879), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 27, 2004 Most likely, the highest rating this beer will ever get. This seems like a guilty pleasure. I haven’t had one in a week, but my mouth waters thinking about this beer. Black opaque with a thick head that looks like toasted marshmallow was dropped onto the beer, directly from the stick that was just held over a campfire. Nose hints of fruit and has plenty of roasted espresso and hints of bittersweet chocolate. Blueberry/chocolate muffin, if there is a such thing. Dry roasted malts are first on my tastebuds, but they yield to some chocolates and then to some vinousy fruity tones. Long and malty in the finish, but enough fruit and dry bitterness to make it seem more complex than a "blueberry stout" should be. Long after the first pint was emptied, and even after a "Fore" and an "Oktoberfest", I was getting hints of the blueberry and thick, oily chocolate flavors... mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 2, 2007 Pours pitch oil black with almost no head. The blueberries are definitely dominant in the smell, mixed in with the typical stout characters, chcoclate, dark malts, roastiness, etc. Taste has some blueberry in it for sure, but not as heavy as in the nose. Mixes pretty well with the rest of the stout characteristics. I think blueberry is a great fruit to incorporate into a stout. Very thick and nice mouthfeel, slightly bitter finish, but overall solid brew. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 3, 2004 Black as night. Moderately aromatic, with notes of blueberry pancakes, coffee, anise and chocolate. Taste is odd, revealing more than twice its potency in flavor. A subtle blueberry flavor is present but it distracts from other flavors more than contributing a flavor. Notes of anise, ginger, strong coffee grounds and a hint of blueberry. Lousy.
