Courtesy of After4ever, thanks Tom. It’s pitch black with a dark brown, small, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, blueberries and candy. The sweet flavor has notes of roasted malt, licorice, blueberries, perfumed candy and in the slightly dry finish, there are hints of coffee – quite charming.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with atpayne (thanks!). Poured a dark black color with red edges and a small sized brown head. Aromas of blueberries, blueberry pie crust, roast, and chocoalte. I really liked the way the blueberry was done in the aroma. Tastes of blueberries, roast, and some coffee.

Bottle... About as dark as a stout gets; pitch black with a small, fizzy, brown head. Unsweetened cocoa, buttermilk and vanilla in the nose. Burnt, tangy flavors with moderate bitterness. Maybe some blueberry fruitiness in there, but that’s probably more the power of suggestion than actual detection. Full-bodied and oily with lively carbonation. Burnt, mildly bitter, dry finish. Judging by the verbiage in others’ ratings, I stand alone in thinking this looks and feels more like an imperial stout than a low gravity dry stout. Can’t believe the ABV is only 4.5%. It’s not that it’s alcoholic, just much heavier than expected. Great stuff, but don’t pop one open expecting a light stroll through a blueberry patch on a warm Spring day.

Pours a rich oily black with a thin light brown head. Upon opening the bottle I can smell the blueberries. Nose is a complex mixture of sweet blueberry and roasted chocolate malt. The blueberry flavor is very subtle in the body, contributing a light tartness up front and slowly fading, covered by the roasted malt flavor. Finishes dry and roasty with some lingering dark chocolate. A novel idea and done pretty well, but as Slikwily said, it could use a little more blueberry flavor. Nonetheless, very drinkable and enjoyable. Thanks bbb63!

12 oz bottle-pours a disappearing brown head and black color. Aroma is rich dark malt-licorice, earthy. Taste is rich dark malt/oat-licorice/chocolate, earthy hops. I don’t get blueberry but stevo says he does. Thanks stevo for sharing.

Pours dark brown with a light brown head that turns tan as the head develops and sustains itself. Smells strongly of blueberries initially, but they seem to drop off and disappear after the initial pour. Smells of coffee, cocoa, pepper and some dark fruit as the beer settles and warms. Tastes of chocolate, coffee and spices. Blueberry flavor is there, but is very subtle and easy to overlook. Finishes slightly metallic with subtle spice and chocolate. Even though this isn’t as blueberry as I’d like it to be, it has a lot of depth and is very enjoyable for a dry stout.
