Black , thick, with a heavy dark brown head. As stated, nose is blueberry. Surprise, there is much more blueberry in the nose than the taste. There is a lot of roasted coffee here, with fruit hints, like a black coffee with after taste of pie. Wonderful brew. Thank you, so much! scrizzz (1323), kirkland, Washington, USA

Sticky clingy tan head. Very good and smooth roasty dry stout, though I don’t get the blueberry on my palate. Really impressed at this beer, I went into it with lower expectations. j12601 (1323), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

Bottle courtesy of BMan1113VR in this year’s summer secret santa. Thanks! Pours a viscous midnight black with a dark brown head. Just gorgeous. One of the most beautiful looking stouts I’ve come across, but the head falls off a bit too quickly for me.
Light sweet blueberries, chocolate, and very faint hints of roast. The body is a little thinner than its looks belie, but it’s not thin by any means. Really nice mouthfeel, smooth and supple. Chocolate, blueberry, subdued roast character that leans more towards bitter cocoa than char. A little like a dark chocolate truffle with blueberries in it. Finishes with more lingering bitter dark chocolate flavor. Outstanding.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 6, 2008 Very dark brown (nearly black) with a small chocolate brown head that is totally diminishing. Aroma is about 65% roast, 35% blueberry - first whiffs, the blueberry tartness is very noticeable, but upon further sniffs the chocolate roast is most prevalent. Blueberry is pretty hidden in the flavor, which is largely roasty coffee, nutty grains and green herbally finish. Somewhat light palate. A decent stout, but it seems like the blueberry addition was an afterthought. zathrus13 (1310), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

Blueberries are more upfront in the flavor, with roasted malt, coffee, and some chocolate. A little thin on the palate. I’m liking this one a lot. All the great qualities of a good stout with notes of chocolate and roasted malt plus the slightly sweet notes of blueberries. Nothing was overpowering and berries were just hiding out in the background. Really cool. xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA

Intense blueberry, and dark malt. Bitter blueberry, with a slight sweetness, but overall very dry, slight roast and smoke as well. This is overall a pretty great stout, sweet yet dry, very nice.
