| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2007 I like Bells Cherry Stout. And I like Atlantic Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale. I can appreciate this stout — the blueberries are there as is the roasty aroma and taste. But roasted, smoked, peaty blueberries? The combination didn’t work for me as well as it apparently does for most others. The aroma is big on blueberries. Behind it is smoke and peat. The pour is a black body below a creamy, large tan head. The flavor presents moderate sweetness and a slight bitterness. Dry finish. Medium body and a slightly sticky texture. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2006 Pours black with a medium brown head that quickly dissipates. The aroma is roasted coffee with a hint of blueberry. Medium palate with low carbonation. Roasted coffee falvor with a light blueberry presence--which I’m happy doesn’t overrun the taste. Slight yeast flavor mixed in. Solid stuff. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2003 Dark brown color with a large milk chocolate uneven creamy head. Crisp rain fresh aroma with more of the blueberry skin aroma. Blueberries are noticable in the taste, slighltly tart, carbonated. I could not detect much if any traditional stout characteristics: coffee, chocolate. This beer became tiresome after 3/4 of the glass. FlssmrBrewAlum (1153), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 12, 2009 12 oz bottle courtesy of the Binnys singles rack (Orland Park, IL). Pours a big billowy dark brown head with pitch black opaque body. Laces well, head dissipates to a moderate amount. Initial has a touch of roasted malts, moving to a light sweetness and tart natural blueberry tannins. Sweet, yet enjoyable. A thicker than expected body, but nothing too heavy, pushing dark roasted malts, light coffee and chocolate with a fair bitterness from the roast. Blueberry essence pushes into the body, emphasizing more tannin than fruity sweetness, lending a very nice interesting spin. Pushes more chocolate, coffee, and roast further into the body. Not as good as the Goose Island version, but a very good stout with great fruit compliment, without preaching fruity dominance. Yum. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA

Thanks to some great Northern rater for sending me this brew last winter~!
What an oddity! The body is absolutely opaque. Black as a crow in the cloudy night sky. The head is what I find odd. It is a dark khaki but with a ruby hue to it. There is a muddled glow of red that cannot be overlooked… maybe from the skins of blueberry? The aroma is a dark chocolate blueberry truffle; that is all, my perfect descriptor. WOW! The flavor brings a richness of melted chocolate and the bitterness of cold coffee with a splash of cream, but all wrapped together with a bushel of overly ripened blueberry. The essence and exuberance of the berry nearly being too soft from age… that kind of aromatics…. Very intriguing! ( I sell SeaDog Blue Paw, a Blueberry Wheat Ale: yet this, although a stout, this beer is similar in that the aromatics of the Blueberry are more so than the flavors.) The love the chary bitter finish…. This reminds me of the Winter Holliday Seasion…. Pie, candles, pastries, cobblers… this is a liquid Candy / Coffee to me! Very nice! My only gripe is that the palate is rather light for a stout and that is a shame because a chewier beer would make an enormous difference! Nevertheless, A great find and a nice liquid experience! | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 2, 2007 Pours a glossy black with a thin cap of brown head that quickly diminishes to a small ring of bubbles that cling to the edge of the glass. The aroma smells almost exactly like the chocolate covered blueberries that I discovered on a trip to Victoria, BC. There’s just a hint of dark roasted malt in the mix, but the blueberries and chocolate dominate the nose. Nice. Medium-bodied and softly effervescent with a pleasant roasted finish. The flavor is of sweet roasted malt with solid blueberry and faint chocolate notes. I’m not quite sure why this one is categorized as a dry stout versus a sweet stout, but regardless of its classification, this is an exceptional brew. BOLTZ7555 (1098), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 29, 2008 Bottle acquired via polomagnifico. What a great beer. Such a low ABV for such a mightly little bottle!!! Jet black with a mocha colored head that hangs around. An interesting brew with obvious blueberry in the nose and on the palate. Somehow, the blueberry tartness/fruitiness plays well with the chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt of the stout. Not syrupy at all...just a nice subtle nuance that makes it unique. pineypower (1096), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2005 Trade with Sully, thanks man. Pours out a deep black color wiht a decent sized darker head. The aroma is of blueberries and roasted malt. Taste is very good, never would have thought of blueberries in a stout, but it was good. Taste of fruit, chocolate and some roasty malt, very smooth and creamy on the palate. A very interesting beer!
