Such a low ABV for such a mightly little bottle!!! Jet black with a mocha colored head that hangs around. An interesting brew with obvious blueberry in the nose and on the palate. Somehow, the blueberry tartness/fruitiness plays well with the chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt of the stout. Not syrupy at all...just a nice subtle nuance that makes it unique. pineypower (1104), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA

The aroma is of blueberries and roasted malt. Taste is very good, never would have thought of blueberries in a stout, but it was good. Taste of fruit, chocolate and some roasty malt, very smooth and creamy on the palate. A very interesting beer! alexsdad06 (1102), Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours black with asmaller tan head that disappears leaving a creamy crown. The aroma has roasted malts, dark chocolate, some coffee notes, and a blueberry inspired fruitiness. The flavor is a mix of roasted malt and blueberry up front. Mid to late it becomes more roasted, dark chocolate, and light coffee. There is a moderate sweetness throughout, with bitterness becoming more prominent at the end. Smooth and medium bodied. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 2, 2005 body is all black. thin foamy sparkling head that is root-beer brown & diminishes quickly. aroma is roasted malt and fried blueberries - like when they are blackened in pancakes cooked on a griddle. flavor is dry roasted malt and tangy dry blueberry juice. medium to light mouthfeel. while this may not be a desert beer on it’s own, it goes great with chocolate cookies! I have got to say that Dark Horse has the ugliest labels on the planet, but I knd of like it that way. Thanks Styles, you’re a rad trader! barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

pours a very dark black with an aroma of dark chocolate and blueberries. flavor was the same. even though I thought this sounded good, the mix of the blueberries with the dark roast of the stout, didn’t do it for me. not bad, just kind of an odd flavor combination. Aroma of blueberries and roasted malts (chocolate). Pleasant. The taste is less certain; the blueberries seem to get in the way of the stout. Not as much melding as I expected. But, it’s an interesting taste, to be sure. Medium body. Definitely gets better as it warms. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Ink black pour with a thin little milk chocolate colored head. Smell is walnuts, pecans, malt, chocolate, and of course, some blueberry. Although, the smell isn’t too heavy on the blueberry at all. Flavor is sweet malt and has some blueberries in there. However, it is a bit watery and not very complex. Mouthfeel is very carbonated and too thin. Overall, it is drinkable, but it isn’t very complex and has too many bubbles and not enough development in my opinion. brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Jet black pour with a light, quick to dissipate brown head. Very tight bubbles form the head and it is quick to be stirred back up with just a swish of the glass. Light fruit in the aroma and I actually believe blueberry. Semi-sweet and cream to the nose. The flavor is light blueberry fruit at the very beginning. Toasted/roasted grain come fast behind it with semi-sweet malt and perhaps some light chocolate or nougat. Semi-dry medium body.
