Same as the other DH stouts I’ve opened. The aroma, well it changes everything. REAL blueberries. Its a really great aroma, the berries work with the beer. Drinking this is interesting. The blueberries act with the dark malts to dry things out. But not too dry. the flavors are all subtle, the blueberry, the chocolate and roasted malts all combine to make this beer what it is. Very interesting stuff. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

Inky black with tinted beige head. This not doing it for me - burnt caramel and rotten fruit, Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Pleasant blueberry/roasted malt taste. Smooth and creamy on the palate. Great balance and complexity. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 17, 2007 Dark dark brown to black with a razor thin light tan head disappearing into nothing. The nose is dry stout dead on with a bit of dry roastiness. The blueberry is nice and subtle, but rather appropriate. The body is thin with low carbonation, completely as it should be for the style. The roast is intense in this flavor. A roasty bitterness seems to be backed up with a strong piney hop profile. A slight blueberry sweetness gives this a bit of balance, but the fruit doesn’t throw this off too much. A dry blueberry bite lingers with the roasty coffee finish. A bit of acidity, but again, appropriate to the style. malrubius (1002), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 14, 2009 12 ounce bottle shared at Dickinsonbeer’s brewing fest. Very dark black with brown head. Rich chocolate spicy fruity blueberry aroma. Rich roasted coffee chocolate mild fruity blueberry and strong, call me crazy, anise spice or licorice. Blueberry is artfully subdued. Nice texture. Very good. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 31, 2006 Enourmous blueberry syrup aroma. Deep black pour with brow head. Flavor is weird, somewhat potpourri. Vegetable spice flavor. Where’s the blueberry? Slight roasted chocolate. Not very good. I would never want another one of these. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 31, 2006 Updated: Mar 27, 2009some funky shit going on in the flavor. heavy cloying sweetness, medium bitterness, paper napkin. aroma’s kinda crazy. at first pure blueberries from a metre away. a yard. then it was awful, then it was better after the nose accommodated. there’s some crazy off-taste i can’t really identify. no alcohol taste, but it’s a meek 4.5abv. oh right, most imporantly, it’s got walker brother’s blueberry waffles - not muffins - all over it.
