12 oz bottle via trade bonus (Scoobydank I believe). Pours almost black with a red toned brown head. Nose is of warm blueberry muffins with nice malt notes. Taste is nice blueberry, mild white pepper, and good roasted malt. At times the blueberry taste artificial but not the whole time. Mouth has a nice mild carbonation and a long dry finish. If you like blueberries this is a must try.

Bottle pours black with a small brown head that does not lace. The aroma is strong roasted malt and blueberries. The flavor is sweet with solid malt, roasted like a mild coffee drink, and fruit, most notably blueberries. The palate is quite rich and pleasant. Overall this is great. And kudos to the brewery to making a great tasting beer under 5% ABV.

RBSG09 bottle at the grand tasting. Almost black in color with some brown highlights. Tan head leaves a little lacing. Smells like fresh Maine blueberries with a whisper of cocoa. Flavor is darkest chocolate with tart blueberries and a roasted finish. Interesting taste, I like the subtlety. Nice medium body, dry on the palate.

The beer poured smoothly and produced a fast fading head with minimal lace. The beer is jet black with a dark brown head. The nose is minty and the aroma is like green cardamom, not what I was expecting. The palate is also full of cardamom flavors. The beer underneath is very roasty, with predominate flavors of black coffee. This is a strange brew; the blueberry is nowhere to be found.

Bottle. One of my most pleasant surprises of ’05. Wasn’t expecting this to be sooo good. Pours a pitch black body with a dark tan head. Moderate lacing as it went down. Exceptional blueberry, chocolate, roasted malt aroma whacks you in the face. Just enough blueberry flavor to know it’s there, along with chocolate and toasty malt goodness. Mouth feel is smooth and creamy. What I liked best is that the aroma would lead you to belive this would be an overly sweet artificially flavored beer, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. A winner for sure.

pours very dark brown...almost black, with a thick brown head. Strong blueberry and chocolate aroma. Flavour has good chocolate and coffee tones, mice dark roast malt, the berry is not as prominant as in the aroma bit comes through towards the finish. Some light bitterness as well towards the end.

Pours black with a thin dark tan head. Huge blueberry aroma. Flavor is blueberry, sweet fruit, dark chocolate, coffee, and toffee. Finishes bittersweet, decent carbonation and medium mouth feel. Hmmm, very nice.
