Commercial Description:
A full bodied stout made with all malted barley and blueberry. Flavors of chocolate, roast malt and light blueberry make up the palate with lots of fruity blueberry aroma.

Black with a large head on the pour that disappeared and left not trace. Light aroma of nothing distinguishable. The flavour has only a hint of blueberry, it seems very acidic and has more of a coffee feel. Bit of chocolate and burnt malts. I’d like to taste it with more blueberry as it may calm some of the big acidic and burnt flavours.

Very nice. Black pour with a small amber head. Aroma is quite heavy with blueberry but the taste is not so much so. I do taste a creamy chocolate and coffee. Smooth lingering slightly bitter finish. Very drinkable.

12oz bottle shared with Bman1113vr. Dark pour with a 1 finger brown head. Aroma is blueberry, coffee, chocolate and little bit of toffee. Taste is smoky, nicotine, chocolate and very very faint blueberries. It was kinda watery for a stout.

I really enjoyed this one. Dark pour with tan head. Fresh friggin blueberry aroma, wow its fantastic. Fruits mixed with chocolate, malt. An honest treat. The blueberries are potent, but perfectly mixed with the sweet chocolates, and slight coffee. And at 4.5%! I could drink it all night.

The 400th rating for this beer, cool. I actully liked and enjoyed this beer. Poured into a snifter, dark brown almost black, some head. Smell is intense! Blueberry, vanilla, roasted malts. Roasted coffee flavor with a light blueberry presence, nice rich smooth palate. Finishes dry and goes down easy. Overall a nice treat.

Draft at Jerry’s. Black with big, creamy brown head / Big, roast nose / Medium to full body, chewy, with great balance and finish / Flavors of roast coffee, unsweetened chocolate, and tobacco, with subtle blueberry notes / Near perfect, just a textbook example of a dry stout with the deft touch of blueberries adding a little extra interest.

Poured a rich black from the tap with a trim dark tan head. Blueberries dominate both the aroma and flavor of this beer, which sounds bad, but it’s really awesome. Tasty notes of cocoa are also present. Of all the Dark Horse stouts that I’ve tried, this one is the most distinct and successful. Well done.

WOW, now this is a sexy beer, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a head that dark, aroma of blueberries permiates the room with a subtle hint of coffee. I purchased this out of curiosity, knowing all to well my tendancy to not appreciate these fruit themed dark brews, subconsciously fearing the tart finish that at this point I felt was unavoidable with the style, but to my surprise... the blueberry flavor is much less represented in the flavor than it is in the aroma and it seems to linger on the palate minutes after a sip but is masked by roasty notes of coffee, slightly smokey flavor, dry finish, this may very well be my favorite fruit stout to date.
