Commercial Description:
A full bodied stout made with all malted barley and blueberry. Flavors of chocolate, roast malt and light blueberry make up the palate with lots of fruity blueberry aroma.

Poured a rich black from the tap with a trim dark tan head. Blueberries dominate both the aroma and flavor of this beer, which sounds bad, but it’s really awesome. Tasty notes of cocoa are also present. Of all the Dark Horse stouts that I’ve tried, this one is the most distinct and successful. Well done.

WOW, now this is a sexy beer, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a head that dark, aroma of blueberries permiates the room with a subtle hint of coffee. I purchased this out of curiosity, knowing all to well my tendancy to not appreciate these fruit themed dark brews, subconsciously fearing the tart finish that at this point I felt was unavoidable with the style, but to my surprise... the blueberry flavor is much less represented in the flavor than it is in the aroma and it seems to linger on the palate minutes after a sip but is masked by roasty notes of coffee, slightly smokey flavor, dry finish, this may very well be my favorite fruit stout to date.

12 oz. bottle (from B&B in Grand Rapids, MI) served in shaker- poured blacker than a bad night in Hockeytown, foamy and thick one finger brown head formed, laced, and hit on my old lady while I was drinking it. Appealing aroma of darkened malt, chocolate, and blueberries by the bushel! Hits the mouth with a high-medium body, malt has been toasted hard, blueberries come in the middle and refuse to go away, finish lingers. Easily my favorite in the series thus far...

12oz. bottle with thanks to tytoanderso for this great bonus! Pours thick and solid black, with a sizable three finger dark brown fluffy head that slowly dissipates, very little lacing. Aroma of blueberry bursts out on the pour, and then subsides to let more roasty malts, chocolate, and coffee come out, but every swirl of the glass brings that pleasant blueberry back on strong. Flavor includes glimpses of dried blueberry, with more roasty chocolate, coffee, and a slight drying bitterness. Another good one from DH; thanks again Tyler!

Dark black pour raisin only a slight head. Nose is like sniffing a bottle of blueberry syrup. Thankfully the flavor thats imparted is more subdued. Still a little to sweet for my tastes.

Bottle pours a pitch black with tan head. Head does not last long. Mouthfeel is medium. Smells of chocolate and blueberry waft from the glass. Has complex flavors of chocolate, roasted beans, and blueberries. Nice long finish. Very tasty.

Pours black with ruby-brown highlights and a thin, creamy brown head that has good retention but is very thin. Aroma is roast, blueberry pancake mix, cumin, overripe apple, dark caramel, espresso and cocao. Flavor is roast, chocolate and char up front, followed by burnt blueberry pancakes, butter sauteed nuts, overcooked duck, slightly burnt arabica coffee, lots of cumin and curry spice notes. Finish is slightly metalic, roasty, burnt blueberry pancakes still and some bitterness. Palate is suprisingly thick, somewhat sweet troughout and pretty slippery. Overall this beer is kinda hard to rate for me, there are alot of things that I like about it but several things I really don’t, I am gonna have to go middle of the road with it.
