| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 1/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Pours deep black with frothy brown head. Aromas of blueberries, roasted malt, and some chocolate. Flavor is the complete opposite with no blueberries and no chocolate. This thing tastes like a thin shitty porter. Very dissapointing from the nose. Hudspart (374), Hudsonville, Michigan, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Apr 18, 2008 Bottle: Pours very dark with a small brown head. Aroma and Flavor: 50% blueberries + 50% black licorice = 100% bad. I could not drink this because I hate black licorice and the taste did not mix well with blueberries. 10 for originality, 2 for execution. Inveigler (371), Ferndale, Michigan, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 12, 2004 Go back through my comments of fruit beer, and you might find the words, "This is possibly the best fruit beer I have ever had ..." Erase all, replace here, and for god’s sake go out and try this stout. This is the most masterful blend of fruit and stout that I have ever tasted. The blueberries show in the aroma, and tantalize in the taste. Nice roastiness, tons of bitterness, how do the blueberries struggle and avoid being overwhelmed? Don’t know, but it is positively remarkable. This is a great beer. World class. Cliff (366), Avon Lake, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 23, 2007 Bottle, thanks to ogglethorp. Poured black with no light coming through and no head, just a thin tan oil slick cover. Aromas of roasted coffee, chocolate and blueberry. Very nice flavors, lots of coffee with the background blueberry. As it warmed in my snifter, the roasty coffee flavor really picked up and the blueberry faded. Excellent mouthfeel, slick and creamy with a good finish. A ver nice beer. valpoaj (363), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Pours a completely opaque black with a very nice deep tan head. Aroma is somewhat muted, but it is still full of fresh blueberry and is complemented nicely by some roasted/burnt malt accents. Flavor is very nicely done...lots of blueberry, but it is melded very well with sweet chocolate, burnt nut and malt flavors, some slight coffee notes, and ends with a strong dry, yet sweet note. Palate is well above average...very creamy and extremely smooth. Slight bitterness towards the end was a bit odd, but didn’t detract much. Overall this was a very nice offering...one of the rare beers I’ve had that hypes the blueberry, but does a great job melding it with other flavors. Goblincat (357), Westland, Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 11, 2004 Very dark with a small tan head. The nose is a nice mix of malt and blueberry. The taste is interesting, starting with the roasted coffee stout taste and slipping to a floral finish of blueberry. I’m a little mixed on this one... It’s almost as if it would be a good stout without the blueberry, but then again the blueberries add something I can’t decide if I fully like. sirpsycho (355), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours a very dark brown, virtually no head to speak of, even after trying to produce one. Very nice ripe blueberry aroma. Flavor lacks the punch of the aroma, blueberry is so very faint in the background, almost non-exsistent. Malt and touches of choclate. A well done dry stout.
