Poured opaque thick black with a large, lasting, creamy-foamy-shiny brown head. Initial aroma was of fresh blueberries, but as I drew my nose closer to the glass, whoa! - solid, overroast malt - nutty with plenty of baker’s chocolate - woodsmoke, tons of bitter hops, also sour cherry and coffee - this is a great-smelling, dry treat for the nostrils. Taste is almost campfire smoky, burnt, bitter (hops and tart fruits), with coffee-like acidity in the longish finish, which also seemed to have a fair bit of black pepper just as an added benefit. The palate on this one is acidic, thick, creamy and even a little fizzy - I loved it, but calling this a fruit beer is insane - it’s a stout with some fruit added, that can’t really even be tasted, just smelled. Strong blueberry aroma, mild roast behind, late sweetness. Medium bodied, soft texture, good smooth roast, berry character. Interesting. Nicely balanced. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2007 Bottle. Black body with a small dark chocolate brown coloured head. (3+) Surprising amout of sweet blueberry pie-like fruit in the aroma is quite lovely as it preceds a less impressie moderate roasty malt character. The flavour starts with dry roasty malt, with the blueberry of the aroma fading to a distant secondary character. Intriguingly, a bite of a chocolate brownie mid glass seems to bring out the blueberry character of the beer more. Unexpected! Average palate is acceptable but thin for a stout, and just a touch under carbonated for my own liking. 7/4/7/3/15 Rciesla (3845), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2004 This draft brew from the brewery poured a medium sized head pf dark brown colored finely sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body was opaque and dark black colored with no carbonation visible due to the opaqueness. The aroma was mildly malted with blueberry notes. The mouth feel was initially smooth with a lingering blueberry licorice finish. The flavor was of blueberries and dark malts. Grovlam (3825), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Poured a near black color with a small, tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, sweeter blueberry, and vanilla. Taste of sweet cocoa, roast, light smoke, and vanilla. A really nice, sweet blueberry melds nicely with the roast and chocolate. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Outstanding blueberry aroma. The taste descends into a sickly sweet blueberry with a strong bitterness opposing it. Good in theory.
