Courtesy of TampaBrew. Pours dark brown with dark tan head. The aroma is roasty malts, sweet malts and a truck load of blueberries. The taste is up front sweet blueberry fruitiness moving into sweet malts and highly roasted maltiness. As the experience moves to the finish the blueberry fruit fades a bit to reveal an even roastier malt layer that borders being burnt. As usual, tasty stuff from this brewery.

Bottle probably from pepsican, but maybe from Stine. Thanks to whomever provided this to me! Pours almost black with a diminishing dark brown head. Smells of light blueberry pancakes with brown sugar and roasted malts. Tastes like blueberry pancakes with some nice roasted and burnt malts. Perhaps some brown sugar and chocolate make and appearance too. Has a lingering blueberry flavor that seems to not want to go away. This might be a touch thin and is rather carbonated, but it is nice nonetheless.

What an interesting beer. While this was still cold my impression was that what you need to know about this beer in order to understand it is how big the underlying stout is: thick, black (yellow edging), opaque, rich, roasty, chocolately, just really deep with all of those big stout qualities. In that formation you get the blueberry from the nose and the finish, but are overwhelmed by "Imperial Stout" in the middle. As it warmed fully, you could get the blueberry all over, including the delightful swish that made for a subtle but elegantly fruity note. It is like an Impy that has that plum/port quality going, only...just a bit different. Thick, viscous, low alcohol but you want to assume it has to be big (it isn’t)...what a marvelous job of brewing. A real triumph for what it is.

Black with a tiny hint of purple around the edges. Thin but persistant brown head. Coffee aroma, with just a hint of blueberry. Huge coffee/espresso flavors, again with just a hint of blueberry. Mildly tart at the finish. Nice job af blending the fruit with the stout flavors. Thanks to jsquire for the trade!

12 oz bottle from tytoanderso; nose of chcolate cover blueberries with a minor coffee hint! Very black with brown fringes and a very small rusty, small-bubbled head; flavor is very molassey with blueberries and bitter chcolate; finish from the nicely thick body is a little hops!

Black pour, with an impressive tan lace - the aroma is an interesting mixture of roasted malts, anise, blueberry, and espresso (but it works) - the body and flavor is that of a roasty cream stout, with strong coffee bitterness, light cream sweetness - this sweetness works well with what little blueberry flavor is apparent (mostly up front, as it fades on the back end) - the bitterness becomes a little much, though, as it gets a little ashy - not one of their best stouts, but an interesting one.

Pitch black with a thin dark brown head. Sweet candied aroma with roast and berry notes - reminds me of Pop Tart. Different and very nice though somewhat cloying. Roasted flavor with lots of coffee and some candied berry notes. Quite dry. Different and weird but still good! Thanks a lot Steve (wohlfs) for the trade!

Bottle from Silphium. Very tasty aroma, dry and bitter herbs, with only very light blueberry. I really have to dig for it, and, had this not been called Blueberry stout, I don’t think I’dve noticed it. I’ve got a couple more bottles though so maybe this one is just a little weak, considering other comments. This is still an extremely delicious stout, perfectly dry and sessionable.
