Wow, incredible aroma of fresh sweet, plump blueberries with roasted malts. Silky smooth and medium bodied. Great flavor is super fresh juicy sweet blueberry with chocolatety blackened malts. The berry flavor here is perfect; not too sweet nor mild. This is like dipping fresh blueberries in chocolate sauce, awesome brew ! SoLan (1426), Orlando, Florida, USA

Aroma is big blueberry, roasty chocoffee, malt, and dough. Flavor is the same with a bitter finish. Full, rich, smooth body. Excellent stout. rowefam3 (70), kendallville, Indiana, USA

Rerate; thought about this one and went back for a six. I think this might be my favorite stout going right now. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours dark, oily black with a medium sized nice and dark brown head. Smell definitely has some blueberry as well as some rich chocolately, slightly sweet, creamy roastiness.
Taste is dark roasty and blueberries as advertised. Very drinkable, and chocolately. Much like dark chocolate covered dried blueberries. Really nice. Slightly sweet, but not overly so. This is a fantastic stout and my favorite Dark Horse beer so far. ketchepillar (483), Des Moines/Grinnell, Iowa, USA

Nose is full of anise and fennel-not unlike Chartreuse really. Slight blueberry. Not at all sweet. Great mouthfeel, perfect thickness and carbonation. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 9, 2009 I was floored to see this was less than 5%. Growler supplied by Kevin. Poured a dark brown almost black. Low carbonation but still a small tan head. Nose is huge blueberries and a fair amount of smoke. Flavor is quite roasty with lovely smokiness and some subtle chocolate and toasted malt complexity. Huge thick body I estimated this beer was 6.5% at least. What an achievement. Amazing beer. nbutler11 (769), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Poured a rich black from the tap with a trim dark tan head. Blueberries dominate both the aroma and flavor of this beer, which sounds bad, but it’s really awesome. Tasty notes of cocoa are also present. Of all the Dark Horse stouts that I’ve tried, this one is the most distinct and successful. Well done. Iceman82 (27), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Quite possibly one of the best beers I’ve ever smelled. Pours a dark, syrupy black color with no head. The most amazing blueberry aromas rise from this glass. I feel like I’m surrrounded by a crop of sweet blueberries in the summer. Aromas of blueberry, chocolate, maybe a little coffee. Tastes entirely different than expected. Not sweet...just an amazing stout with this fresh blueberry flavor. Tastes of dark, bitter chocolate and blueberry. Reminds me of a blueberry muffin!!!
