Pours a very dark brown, virtually no head to speak of, even after trying to produce one. Very nice ripe blueberry aroma. Flavor lacks the punch of the aroma, blueberry is so very faint in the background, almost non-exsistent. Malt and touches of choclate. A well done dry stout. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA

Not artificial, but real, freshly crushed blueberries. There’s a hint of coffee behind the sweet/tart blueberries. Pours black with a quickly disappearing brown head. Nicely balanced on the palate with blueberries fading into some lightly roasted malt and espresso flavors. Medium bodied. I like how they used the tartness of the blueberries for aroma and not to make it into a syrupy fruit beer. Nice! BelgianBeerGal (1291), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

All the great qualities of a good stout with notes of chocolate and roasted malt plus the slightly sweet notes of blueberries. Nothing was overpowering and berries were just hiding out in the background. Really cool. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2004 Black, pitch black - great looking light brown head - what a stout should look like. Light blueberry at the front of the nose, roasty with hints of coffee. Fruity and fresh smelling. The body is nicely fruity with delectable coffee notes. Very little blueberry in this thing, roasty with a light palate. A very nice base stout - doesn't really need the blueberry, it's barely detectable anyway. Not up to the standard set by other fruit stouts like Bell's Cherry Stout, but a good stout nonetheless. joet (1708), Fulton, California, USA

The fruit aromas and flavors meld well with the natural esters of the malt and are complemented well by the heavy roastiness. There are big hops in here as well and the bitterness of the roast dovetails nicely with the extending herbal bitterness. I appreciate the full stout flavor -- roasty, chewy and full bodied -- while the fruit and bitter extend the beer beyond the call of duty. Thanks PsychProf! bubslang (438), Kentwood, Michigan, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 18, 2003 Poured a deep dark brown with a large brown head. aroma was of roasted malt and blueberries. Taste was roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and subtle hints of blueberry. mouthfeel is light and slightly creamy. The combination of stout and blueberries easily could have been a disaster, but this beer pulls it off fairly well. argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA
