| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 25, 2007 Bottle picked up my father in Michigan. Thaks Pops! Pour is dark dark dark brown with a thin tan head that fades. Lacing throughout. Nose is of chocolate, roasted malts, and blueberries. So far, so good. Taste is full with chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon, coffee (didnt smell any of it, weird), roasted malts, and some fruitiness in the end but it would be hard for me to decipher blueberries. Thin to Medium body with a smooth, bitter and fruity finish. A unique beer and really much better than your average dry stout. BeerHawk (1175), Huntsville, Alabama, USA

Aroma of blueberry pancakes and coffee roast. The flavor finds chocolate and coffee backed with hints of blueberry and a light nuts. Medium to full body. Very nice. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 31, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a menacing dark brown-black with saddle-soap-colored head that leaves nice lacing throughout the inside of the glass. Aroma is bitter-roasted grain, dark chocolate, and of course, blueberries. Flavor is also bitter from the roasted grains but has little of the charcoal flavor that so many craft-brew stouts seem to aim for (and lacking this is a good thing IMO). There is some sweetness from the malt and presumably the blueberries to keep the bitterness in check. Speaking of the blueberries, I was skeptical about a blueberry stout, thinking that a judicious dose of blueberry flavor would be the only way it could work. And that’s exactly what they have done here -- just enough to let you know the blueberries are there but not trying to "take over" the flavor. Any more of the blueberry flavor and I don’t think this would have worked. Body is full with a thick, almost oily palate. This would have been a solid stout without the blueberries, and adding blueberry flavor could have ruined it not handled properly. Thankfully, it was handled properly. kmweaver (2489), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a dark, dark brown color with a maroon tinge; medium tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Blueberries and roasted malts and bitter chocolate in the aroma. Medium-to-full mouthfeel, with light carbonation: shows overripe blueberries and roasted malts upfront, followed by dark chocolate and hints of a citrus bitterness; well-balanced and maintains a pleasant viscosity for a 4.5% beer. Ends quite dry, showing milk chocolate and roasted malts. jason (1626), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Light blueberry aroma, roasted malt. Flavor is bitter sweet, syrupy blueberry taste, sugary, with a light chocolate undertone. Nice dessert beer. JHunter (248), British Columbia, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2009 From coyotehunter via trade. An attractive, super-dark brown pour with a one-finger tall brown head. The aroma was blueberry (sometimes it smelled like real blueberries, sometime it smelled like Boo-Berry cereal) along with lots of coffee. The flavor was more of the blueberry mash-up, coffee and some chocolate. Mouthfeel was almost medium in body. No alcohol noticed. OK. Not something I’d fall back on, but worth a try.
